Don't own a 686, have shot a few and do own a 586. All of those, including my own have had sweet triggers. Enjoy it and may it bring you many enjoyable years of shooting it.

Very Nice. Its a major plus that the grips have a really nice grain, they are not beat to hell. I saw a no dash at a shop a few days ago and the gun was extremely nice but the owner had put on a set of beat up target grips on it trying to make it look better than it did with the cheap set of rubber grips it had on it when he traded it in. He didn't even bother to clean up the sideplates where the rubber had made a mark! He was asking top dollar and I would have probably bought it with nice grips or if he had dropped the price $75 so I could buy a nice set of grips. He wouldn't so I didn't. You came out good on your deal.

I'm pretty sure my 4" no dash is my flat out favorite firearm.

Nice! Nothing is more well-rounded than a 4” 686. It’ll do just about anything and everything one can ask a handgun to do :).

Plus, it’s a silver Yin to your blued 586’s Yang!

Stay safe.

Went to one of the LGS's this am and found this nice 686-3 to add to my S&W stable. Sweet trigger on this one.
Dang it Snake! My wife and I are planning on a trip over to the Boise area in a few weeks. We always visit a few gun stores while were over there. You beat me to it! That 686-3 would have made a nice birthday gift to myself.;)

Sorry about that but there is a big Gun show next weekend April 13/14 at the Idaho Ford Center in Nampa, so you might find a gem there , just keep it in mind
