There's been some mention of this actor lately and although Hollywood isn't real life, as has been mentioned Reeve's seems to be a firearms enthusiast and his "training" for his roles I think goes beyond most. I also heard that he competes in 3 gun matches.

Anyway, his latest training video for John Wick 3.

I don't know if he is as pro 2A as many think, I have read that he has stated he doesn't own any weapons in interviews. He does however dedicate himself to whatever role he is cast in and trains very hard to ensure he is accurate in his portrayal.

This interview question is the one I usually see cited regarding his stance on the 2A:

"Given his propensity for playing policemen, does Reeves have any thoughts on gun control?

'You mean should citizens be able to have a weapon? Yeah, why not? I am not fundamentally against citizens having access to a weapon, but I think that it has complications, the use of it. It's probably not the wisest thing. Personally I don't own a weapon.'"

what struck me most in that video is how polite Keannu is. "May I ask....". i think when he was asking about slicing the pie prior to crossing the doorway. He's well known for being down to earth and being a nice guy.

Cool video. He’s one of those actors that tries to get it right.

There are many movies and shows I can’t watch without nitpicking tactics, John Wick movies either suspend my disbelief enough or are done well enough I don’t find myself saying “that’s not how you would do that.”

Yeah, I caught that too. :uhoh:
Other than that the video was kind of interesting and he does seem true to his Craft by getting the training there for the movie.

Agreed. And the questions he's asking are those of someone who genuinely wants to learn. Whether it's because he is personally interested (based off his alleged stance on 2a and gun ownership unlikely) or because he wants to be the master of his craft it's good to see.

He appears to be mildly pro-gun. Honestly, I wouldn't care even if he didn't own guns -- if you're a nice, uncommonly altruistic person with a solid work ethic who cares more than most about being good at what you do for a living, you've got my respect regardless of your stance on any given issue.

I see you’re not into extreme tribalism. That’s now very uncommon.

That's interesting. I seem to recall an interview he did a year or two ago when he stated that he did NOT believe in "private ownership" of firearms.

Do you have a citation for that? I can’t find one.

At my age, it's hard to remember that far back clearly. After reading the article where he made those comments, my feelings were that he can go peddle his movies elsewhere. So, no cite. It has been too long.

The whole time I was thinking the same thing. That's rule number 1. Didn't even demonstrate that it was cleared

I watched the 3 videos that Shawn Ryan posted on his YT channel, and they clearly said the BCG was removed from the gun.

I recall reading somewhere that when he signed on for John Wick he asked to learn a new martial arts style he didnt cover in The Matrix, hence the Judo style of fighting.

I appreciate using the movie as a means to further his knowledge base, seems like something I would do.
