Curious to know where you could find a list of gun parts that are common between the two other than the grip frame.

Talking about things like screws, springs, clock works, sights, etc.

The old model Blackhawk had the three screws and no transfer bar mechanism unlike the new model.

They are the same except for the pawl (hand). The BH has a 2 fingered pawl, the ROA has just one.

The ROA frame is longer due to the rammer covering and more barrel threading, otherwise the barrel would be interchangeable too. The original ROA used as many parts of the old BH as possible to minimize tooling and use available parts at the time.

All the screws and sights are the exact same too?

Actually the sights fit but are not always the same, I've seen them new from the factory with two different height front sights.

I know because I changed on my stainless Old Army to the different height and was told by the Ruger rep in parts that what I wanted is what was normally used on a Blackhawk.

The ROA was advertised and released as literally the percussion version of the Blackhawk. Like cars that have a automatic model, then a stick model.
Everything expect for that which concerns the different mechancism, should be interchangable.
Lately I've been looking at some old Blackhawks to compliment my ROA.

Would this include the trigger and hammer. One of my ROA's has such a hair trigger I don't use it. appears both were monkied with by a former owner. Internet purchase, beware.:(

Whughett, it would be best to fix yours. Probably wouldn't take much to correct.

Actually, the Rugers have come into their own around here . . . .
