THE RULES
You will fire 10 shots onto the approved target listed which for this challenge will be a B-16 25yd slow fire target for both the15 yd and 25yd classes. Scoring will be scored by adding up the score for all 10 shots. A shot touching a line counts as the next numbering up. For instance if a shot touches the line separating the 7 and 8 the score is a 8. A X counts as 10 points.

The target used will be a B-16 25 yd slow fire target as is the match is slow fire. You can download the target and make copies online although however I downloaded it on a standard printer paper 8.5 x 11 inch paper, see example photo attached at bottom the target which is slightly smaller than standard targets that are bought or ordered and the printed ones cut out part of the 5 ring so it's best to buy some if you can. You may use any color target or put a sticker in the center X circle if you want to help aiming as long as it fits correct. See the three sample targets in the photo whatever B-16 target you get it has to have a X ring there are some available that just use orange for the whole ten ring and that can't be used.

then take a pic of it and post it here, if you would post a pic of the firearm used as well.

You may submit as many targets as you wish provided it was shot with a different firearm. One target submission per firearm is allowed within the class . You can take as many tries that you want BEFORE you post your target but only post the target you want to submit for the final submission to the challenge.

If you have a convertible revolver you can submit the same gun twice with each caliber but only submit one target per caliber per class. If you have a family member or friend that wants to enter they can using your user name and firearm just make notes when posting.

The cutoff date for submissions is June 30 2019

Please submit targets even if you don't think they'll win as the information on how well what shoots may be valuable to other members

Good luck and good shooting

Nice! Did you adjust sights for a 6 o'clock hold or did you hold center?
I use a 6 o'clock hold on all my handguns. The MKII I shot a target and it shot a little low, I made a sight adjustment and shot the target pictured. The Single 6 I just shot the one group as I was short on time. It had been a year or two since I had shot the MKII, the Single 6 had not been fired in at least 5 or more years.
My biggest problem is eye fatigue, me being at almost retirement age, the eyes are not what they used to be. When I shot the Single 6 the first shot was in the X ring, shot number 2 was the high 10 ring, after that they began to wander. I have a couple more rimfire to try, I my try shooting a round, lowering the gun and after a pause acquiring a sight picture and shooting again, then repeat for 10 rounds

My problem other than I forgot my prescription lenses is I get impatient. Not sure I have the discipline to learn bullseye. 10 shots in ten minutes sounds like mental torture. LOL

My first entry, more guns coming. My dad's Ruger MK1 which is now mine. Did these targets indoor, I generally shoot better outdoor. I don't know how many rounds have been put through this old MK1 , between dad , and I growing up with it and the years followed but it has had a lot put through it and it keeps on going.

I caught some flak for using Remington Thunderbolt in one of the classes in the rimfire rifle challenge, but I tried Aguilla and Winchester ammo that day in my Ruger but scored best with the Thunderbolt. I have MK2 also but I actually usually shoot better with the MK 1.

some guns just like T-bolt. years ago I shot IHMSA silhouette in my TC Contender using it out to 50 yards, then switched for 75 and 100 yards.

Same here. My shooting and reloading mentor was a bullseye match shooter and I lack the patience he had. (I have hard enough time shooting between heartbeats at 50 yards looking through a scope)

Being an "action pistol" shooter at heart, longest I could manage is like 30 seconds for 10 shot group or I will fall asleep. :D Maybe we could have a "rapid fire" match in the future. ;)

I recently picked up a GSG 1911 so I will give it a go for this match.

The target shows a 88, but when I took the pic I discovered it was a 87 :cuss:
I tried to shoot 1 round at a time and slowly squeeze the trigger for 10 rounds, I had more 10 rings but would slip up with a 6. So I went back to holding as steady as I could and slapping the trigger when it was on target and was able to keep them all in the black. I would shoot 3 or 4 rounds rather quickly then lower the gun for a short rest them shoot again.

For slow fire, I find using modified weaver stance with locked shooting arm with bent support arm pulling back provides steady hold that won't tire the arms/hands as much and steady the front sight on target better.

At 6:00 minute mark of video, Hickok45 demonstrates his modified weaver stance

beds, I used the Weaver stance when I first started shooting, but went to the iscolese stance about 15 years ago. I can get good hits fairly fast but I am not as precise as I once was.
My problem is that I am 64 years old,, the eyes, hands, wrist, shoulders, knees, elbows and everything else has had a lot of years of wear and tear working construction. I am not making excuses I am just facing facts, as much as I hate to admit it. In my mind I want to be that 30 year old again, but the body is having none of it.

I hear you. At 53, I am starting to go your way, particularly my eyesight.

Thankfully, body falling apart hasn't affected trigger pull ... yet.

Nice shooting!

Still can't get through a mag with this without 2-3 misfires. Have changed striker and spring. Frustrating.
Do you get misfires with other ammo too?

With recent boxes of even cheap loose bulk Federal 36 gr CP HP, I now rarely have misfires. My last two boxes, zero misfire. Winchester M22 40 gr CP RN on the other hand, few misfires per box.
