iv carried or shot just about every style of hand gun there is in my life time and I have my Smiths, Rugers and others that are keepers but I like to run across lower tear guns to tinker with and sell or trade. Recently I have run across a very nice Rossi 461 with 3 inch barrel. This thing looks new with a very nice fit and Finnish. It’s very accurate with .38, .38+P and even .357 but 357 is a hand full due to the size. It’s smaller than a K frame but a little larger than a J frame and is a 6 shot. It’s quickly becoming a keeper. Just wondering anyone else run across a lower tear gun like Rossi, Llama or whatever you thought was maybe going to be used for trading or selling but found it to be a surprising “ keeper “

Taurus 450 Titanium. Packs a wallop and is one of only a handful of DA .45 Colt revolvers. It is a five shooter on an L frame size.

Keep an eye out for them at gun shows. There is a possibility the seller will think they have just another Taurus.

Keep your eyes open for a Rossi Model 720. They only made them for three years or so in the early 90's.

It's a five-shot stainless in 44 special with a 3" barrel. I have one that's hammerless with fixed sights and one with a hammer and adjustable sights. In size it seems in between a J frame and a K frame. My adjustable sight one is a phenomenal shooter.

They have a bit of a cult following.

To add, I also have a Jennings J .22, again took it in on partial trade I hate these things. Had one or two over the years that were complete junk gave one away as a parts gun and beat the hell out of the other with a sledge hammer. Then about two years ago I ended up with another one. My plan was to sell it directly so I could not attest to Its function. So I just happen to have a few cci Mimi mags. It functioned correctly but felt like the thing was slamming itself apart. Hmmmm. I dug around ang found some thunderbolts and this thug has not missed lick ! Cleaned it and it went 341 rounds even without being reoild ! A little oil got 2 more boxes out of it before I had to strip it down for a good cleaning. In all fairness it did have 8 miss-fires out of all of that but that could have been gun or ammo. So to sum up there are keepers in rocks sometimes. Then there was the time I had a early made Grendel .380 that loaded with stripper clips. If I could have gotten my hands on their necks,,,,,,,,,,

"Keep your eyes open for a Rossi Model 720."

I have owned 3 of these and I believe it is the best revolver Rossi ever produced. I have been selling most of my firearms due to poor health and mobility reasons, but I still have one of the M720's, and that one I will die with.

I carry a Taurus Model revolver in .32 H&R made in Total Titanium. This is another gun that is great to carry and super accurate for a 2 inch barrel gun. Fit and finish is also very nice. They are hard to find. The last one I have seen for sale was on GB. The seller had a starting price of $695 on it. Not sure If he ever got his price, but the TT is scarce and mine can not be intimidated in any area by a S&W or any other manufactured gun of that type.

I bought a new Taurus model 44 .44 magnum, stainless steel, with a 4" barrel.
This was back in spring of 1994. It has a better action than any N frame Smith I've shot.
Pretty sure that's down to the fact that they were hand fitted by the factory, at that time.
Recoil is nowhere near what you'd expect for a 4" N frame sized .44 mag.
Probably due to the fact that the barrel is not only factory ported, but the last inch of barrel is actually an expansion chamber compensator.
I think it cost $327 at the time. A lot of revolver for the money.
27.1 grains of Vihtavuori N110 underneath a 180 grain Hornady XTP makes for a hot load that is LOUD but doesn't recoil badly, due to the compensator.
I used to have a Taurus 431 .44 Special. Wish I'd never sold it.
If I can find another in excellent shape, and/or a Rossi 720, I'm jumping on it.
