  • The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives got involved after receiving a tip about someone "conducting illegal firearms transaction outside the scope of the federal firearm license," law-enforcement officials told the Associated Press.

I would like the truth of the whole story although I doubt we will get it. Looks like a big collection of average guns. Not a illegal stash. Guy was a FFL holder from reports. Media makes it BAD, BAD BAD from the amount of guns there. But if they are legal will they follow up?

No probably not.

Like the anti gun California position arrested for having a gun in his office.

I saw more than a couple of Colt snake guns in there. Some really nice stuff, and some really average stuff.

That throws off the average amount of guns owned per household statistic.
He could shoot one gun each day for almost 3 years before starting over.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with having any number of different firearms. You do realize you very far from having just one of everything if you only own 1000 firearms.

What you do with them can make a difference though but that’s no different than lots of other stuff.

If you are a collector, you could have hundreds or even thousands that have never even been fired, much less be associated with any sort of criminal activity. I wonder how many the BATFE had in their “library”?

Hope they don't make it illegal to own a lot of pennies. I hope I don't need a license to take them to the bank and turn them in. California, what a joke.

I wonder what recourse the owner has if the charges are false or dropped in regards to damages?

I don’t own even a tenth of that lot but I sure would be hot if someone treated my guns that way.

I really hope they are all legit and they have to give them back to him. And I hope he had detailed pictures cataloged for each firearm.

My understanding from something I read is that the owner was found dead in a car somewhere. He doesn’t care anymore.
