This was my “warm up” run. But it ended up better than my next target, so I’ll stick with this one.

I’m thinking the 15 yd (and maybe 25 yd) winner will come down to X-count. I wouldn’t be entirely surprised if a few shooters step up and shoot a perfect score before it’s all over.

My 25-yd targets aren’t as good as I’d hoped. And we still have a lot of time before the end of June. So maybe I’ll try a few more before I turn one in for record.

And lots of people have several .22 pistols, so I expect there will be a lot of entries in the next few weeks. This one is really easy to shoot well though, so I suspect it will all be downhill from here for me. But still lots of fun.

I will be giving this a try with 3 of my 22s. This is similar to a bullseye game we already do.
Nice to spice up a range trip.

The first of what I hope will be several entries.

I am happy with this target. I am guilty of being a trigger puller. I rattled off ten rounds without lowering my gun. I probably should have taken my time and tried for a better score, but it was drizzling rain, and I have some other guns that I want to shoot in this challenge.

The addition of the scope really magnified how much wobble I have. I never shoot a scoped handgun offhand, I am happy with the results. Also the scope has some parallax at 25 yards, but not at 50. This gun is very accurate, after shooting my target I shot one at 50 yards off sandbags. Even with the cheap Federal ammo I got a 10 shot 1" group, with better ammo and a better shot I am sure this gun could be under 1/2" group at 50 yards.

Yes, it is a factory 12" 22 long rifle match bull barrel. T/C made a bunch of different barrel lengths, this is the only 12" I own. I like it in a 22 better than a 14 ".

yeah, the 14" gets pretty heavy for off hand...
most of my offhand guns were 10", from the old days...

From what I understand these are supposed to be more accurate with the magnum cylinder installed due to a non-ideal bore diameter for .22 long rifle. However this one, at least with me behind it and this ammo, is more accurate with long rifle cartridges.

there are a couple 10 inch barrel ones on gunbroker right now,

I'm learning that my fiberoptic front sight is terrible for target shooting. I shot a bunch of groups with my iron sighted mkiii but I'm not proud of any of them yet. Still sighting in for 15 yds and for a 6 o'clock hold the rear sight is up against its stop.

I got out today and clicked around on my sights before getting back to where I had them originally........and fired this target for score.
Class 1, 15yds two hand hold.

Here is a closeup of the target.
I should get extra credit because I shot this carpenter bee out of the air from a distance of about 3ft. (For those that arent familiar with them....they hover in one place when they arent boring holes in your shooting shed rafters)

And as usual, my single six shot better with the magnum cylinder.

I was more serious about my shooting today. I even dug out my old pistol shooting glasses, so I could focus on the sights. 20190525_160509.jpg
@lionking,
I know I stretched the rules by shooting targets in .22lr; .22long; .22cb short; and .22magnum. I wanted to show the versatility of the ruger single six.
Feel free to disqualify any that you wish.

No problem thanks for sharing the info. My other entries will be done indoors, it is crazy hot here in Florida Tampa area 95 degrees plus. I wanted to do more entries in ramdom's centerfire rifle shoot but I just don't want to deal with that kind of heat outside although I did some landscaping outside yesterday and lol, I'm not gonna do any more of that for a while either.

Went to the local indoor range today and made some entries. I tried Federal, CCI, Aguila, Winchester, Remington golden, and Remington Thunderbolt ammo.
My dads now mine S&W K22. Scored best with CCI and Federal although Thunderbolt was close behind. Lost one shot low on the 15 yard entry.

Grand father's Colt Huntsman, passed on to my dad and now to me. Trigger and feel is so smooth I think I might find a target model do some searching on gun broker and such. I did best with Winchester ammo.

I've tried multiple times from 25 yards with Ruger MKIII 22/45 with iron sights and the bestl I can get is 84. I'm so impatient. I tried even putting the gun down between shots, counting to 30, etc. Tried both eyes open and one eye closed. It's like I do better when I don't try. LOL

Still trying... hopefully I can get a better score to post for the record before the end of the month.
