Rifle-based decor

Personally I'm a fan of the old half-hour B&W Gunsmoke format, but I liked both Weaver and Curtis about equally as sidekicks.

Did you ever notice that as the seasons progressed that the Marshall's office got bigger?
At first the side door was mostly behind the desk, then finally it was completely out in the open beside the desk.
Nothing else changed though.
Then that Kansas map appeared on the wall in the now available wall space behind the desk.
So the building spontaneously grew about 3 feet front to rear, and nobody in Dodge even noticed.

I enjoyed the 1 hour color episodes quite a bit as well. They had a warmth to them from a cast of comfortable pros who still had excellent scripts to work with.

I've decorated my bedroom and man cave with old bows, arrows, movie prop rifles, pistols, swords and knives, old BB guns, antique toy pistols, and axes and hatchets of all types.

No functional firearms of any sort in sight.

My childhood bedroom, which serves as a home office now, is done up in books, military helmets, crossbows and old SciFi movie posters. A bit cluttered right now compared with my mancave proper.

Nice helmet collection!
I've concentrated on Allied helmets since the Adrian model. although I have added a few Finn and Swiss models.
I've also been gathering examples of industrial and police helmets.
Most of the rest of the house is decorated with tapestries, ukiyo-e prints, my stone, pottery, iron and steel work, my sister's paintings, stone carvings and ivory work.
-And lots and lots of books.

Kindred spirits! I watched a great summary lecture on the history of ukiyo-e (wife's family is Japanese-American and I have a moldy BA in fine arts) just a couple weeks back:

I used to collect modern military body armor as well as helmets, but came to my senses once I ran out of storage space. I'm down to about 45-50 helmets right now, mostly steel with a handful of composites. The Swiss and Danish helmet section is just off the right edge of the photo.

I’ve been wanting build ruger single six grip frames to use for door knobs throughout the house with the traditional old ruger wood grip panels.

Another Rifle Country posting reminded me of a friend's mancave decor, which features a group of manikins wearing original WWI uniforms and issued smallarms, several ship, aircraft and artillery models in various scales and a row of deactivated artillery shells, all surrounding the centerpiece: a carefully restored 6 cm Krupp breechloading rifled Mountain Gun made in the late 1870s. BTW, this is the same guy who is planning to sell the Jenks Carbine I posted photos of earlier. The Mountain Gun is probably shootable, but the owner likes it just fine as a static decorating statement. Pretty tough act to beat!
