Again the same idiocy with the iron sight being a part of the milled area, so you cannot have both irons and optic (unless you can use a DeltaPoint Pro with built-in rear sight). Some people just do not get it.

Agreed

I wonder if it was a space consideration. Anyway, that doesn't bother me. I would have to see, but I bet I could make hits using the front sight and the window of the red dot. Maybe I don't worry about these things enough. :)

I have the same line of thinking. I think I’m a self defense situation of 7 yards or less, point shooting through a failed optic is more than adequate.

This is 9 oz lighter and 0,4" shorter in length, 0.6" shorter in height than my various p229's. I'm VERY tempted but my wallet doesn't need the beating of the pistol and the inevitable Romeo Zero, holsters, etc. If they made it with the internal phosphate coating like the m11a1 I'd probably get it.

If you don’t get it now, then you won’t be on a look out for sales on a Romeo, holsters and magazines. You’re really saving money in the long run, by ordering one now. :D

Personally I would go for the 320 sub compact. If someone owned the 365 and it fit there hand, then this would make a nice second pistol. But to choose between this and the 365 does not makes sense. You are losing all the features of small concealable size.
That said. The 365 does not fit all hands, due to riding the slide as mentioned above. This might be alternative that would fit those hands that just cannot fit the 365. There would be a need to actually shoot and handle the gun first.

Don’t care for the high bore axis of the 320’s, the beavertail is thick at the back and puts ones hand low on the gun. I’m done with all that reciprocating mass that being that far above my grip. It’s the reason I like CZs and Glocks.

The 365xl looks like just what I’ve been waiting for.

I hope the grip is the same, just a bit longer.

I was shooting my P365 just a couple days ago and was thinking, since it is such a nice shooter for a small gun a larger version would be interesting.

I feel for you but don't want to see guns designed based on that restriction.

Might be a good thing in this case since they designed the 10 Round Magazine before designing the rest of the pistol.

Without 10-Round Laws they might have designed a 12 round magazine first and the XL might have been the only P365.

Since the P365 is a Chassis System wonder if the XL Frame is going to be available for $50 like the P320?

Yes and no. Cant forget us folks who are limited to 10 rounds. This is very appealing. There's approx 80 million folks living in 10 round states (if I got all the restricted states right). That's 1/4 of the US population. So guns like this and the Glock 43x or 48 make sense for us. Hitting capacity limit in a concealable package that shoots like a full size gun.

What state do you live in?

I’m waiting on the manual lock version to hit the stores and get that pistol! Sig Sauer has the very best ergonomics as far as I’m concerned. 10+1 in the pistol and a 12 round Mag in my back pocket is a good amount of fire power seeing how I won’t be storming Normandy Beach like PawPaw did. Plus, the price is right. I HATE, HATE, HATE having to leave my pistol in the truck when I go see the Astros play so an $800-$1,000 pistol getting stole isn’t worth the risk but $500 is doable.

Anyone had ANY feeding problems or firing pin problems still? If your P365 works like a singer sewing machine, let me know that too.

This is halfway to the gun I really wanted. Size-wise it is reminiscent to me of the Kahr K9, which is a fabulous pistol and fit me perfectly. I have smallish hands and slender fingers. I can just barely get all my fingers onto the P365. A 12-round flush fit P365 magazine would be nearly perfect for the smallest gun I can consistently and rapidly get a full grip on. I may have to get one anyway.

Some thoughts:

1. Hopefully the increased size can mitigate some of the small-gun reliability problems that were widespread on the internet about the P365.
2. Contra to @Walkalong , I like the 3.5"-4" barrel over the stubby 3" barrels. In addition to some sight radius and muzzle velocity gain, I have noticed that my P365 holsters are a little less stable because there's not much gun below the belt line to balance the weight over the beltline. An extra inch would help stabilize my holster when worn a bit better.
3. What I was really hoping for a was a P365 with a 4" barrel and a 15-round capacity as a direct Glock 19 competitor.

1. It seems as though Sig has them fixed with the newer P365 by the reports I've seen. They did have a lot of internet chatter about failures initially, but it seemed their customer service took care of everyone promptly and the R&D went to work fixing the issue which is nice to see.

2. I agree with you on the barrel length, I would rather have the 3.5-4" barrel, due to the increased control in firing, longer sight picture, velocity and barrel/slide length dimension is easy to conceal.

3. The XL seems to be the right place for me, in between the P365 and a Glock 19. I think the thinness (but not too thin like most single stacks for me where they move around in one's hand during firing), and the shorter grip which is easier to conceal and not print is a definite plus over carrying a G19. And with Sig coming out with a 15 round magazine for it it will make a nice range gun as well.

I like the idea. Not enough to buy one yet, but it seems pretty solid in design.

I just bought my first flat trigger gun with thr fn 509 midsize, and i really like it. The 320 and the hinged flat trigger on the fn have spoiled me to the point that bladed triggers are just a no-go for me.

I will say that the flat trigger with the audible reset made slow steady shots a breeze with the fn. I may shoot thr 320 just a bit better due to the grip fitting my hand better and the trigger being at least half a pound lighter. The bore axis does cause a bit more flip and time back on target as well. However, I'm a 320 fan. I may need to give this larger 365 a closer look when reviews start to flow in.

May I interest you in a Glock 17L, sir? It should positively disappear! :D

I probably should have worded my thoughts differently. Longer slide length is easier for me to conceal than longer grips, but I don't carry appendix which a longer slide would be problematic. I'm a fitter person and grips print easy under my t shirts, more doughnuts would help the problem with the lack of a spare tire to mold around the grip.

But I'm interested in a Glock 17L for the right price.

You may be right about it, actually. You know how people shoot flat-top ARs with just the front sight. In addition, the most important use for irons on the pistol with optics is to let you index so you can acquire the dot without wasting time wobbling the gun before you can make first shot. The front is most important for that indexing, and the rear is only used for backup. Still, I do think that there was plenty of space for SIG to make it work properly.

The XL seems kind of like a skinny M&P9 2.0 Compact competitor. Just a smidge smaller than the Glock 19. I would really love a G19-sized P365, but if they made one, it would probably just replace my P320.

I wonder if they kept the slide weight down? I had an aluminum framed 5" 1911 I hated because the heavy slide coupled with the lightweight frame made for a lot of muzzle flip.
