I can't say whether it's any good since I'm not qualified, but the DVD's are easy to understand and Mr. Keating comes across as a good teacher.

I only have one "big" knife, from Tom Black out of New Mexico:

My "big" knives are simple working blades from Forschner (Victorinox) - a 10" curved breaking and a 12" scimiter... Simple stainless steel butcher knives that have been my fish cutting staples for many years... I keep the two of them, each one separately wrapped in a soft cloth in my truck since I work in saltwater... and you keep your better blades away from that stuff... They only come out when the fish are big enough to need them... after my skiff is up on its trailer...

I don't really have any big knives.
Just this one I made for throwing knife competition at rendezvous.
If I have a really big cutting job, I like a 'hawk.

Biggest knife I have is my Hackman Survival Knife with a 7" spear point blade.

I think this is the biggest one I have. 12" carbon steel with a nice patina. Comes in mighty handy when I cook BBQ or cut up watermelons. Says "Foster Bros." & "Made in USA" on the blade. Been in the family as long as I can remember.
