I just bought a used Miroku Winchester 1892 in 44-40. I searched online but didn't find any site that had dates of manufacture for the Japanese Winchesters.

Anyone know of where to look?

Browning? https://www.browning.com/support/date-your-firearm.html

Winchester produced limited numbers of the Model 1892 in 1997. In November, 2006, Winchester announced the Model 1892 John Wayne 100th Anniversary Rifle, chambered in Win 44-40. Since then, Winchester has offered several versions of the Model 1892. In early 2012, Winchester produced a limited number of Large Loop Carbines in 4 calibers; .44 Magnum, .357 Magnum, .44-40 (44 WCF) and .45 Colt

This one says "Winchester U.S. Repeating Arms, New Haven, CT", "Under License", and "Made In Japan", and the 44-40 chambering on the barrel. On the upper tang it says "Winchester Model 1892". It has a two-line serial #: 07NP7002XX in the appropriate place. It has the rebounding hammer and tang safety which don't bother me.
While I'm not a particularly avid fan of these "new fangled" guns, I now have one I can shoot jacketed bullets without fear of causing undue wear.

Browning is using the Winchester name.

Most Browning guns were made in Belgium by Fabrique Nationale (FN) until the mid 1970s when some production was shifted to Miroku in Japan. Today's Browning firearms are made in either Belgium, Portugal, Japan or in the United States.

Yes. Looking inside with the bolt retracted, the machining looks excellent. Especially, compared to some other "newer" rifles out there.

243winxb, I looked at the Browning chart you sent and it isn't anywhere close to what I have.
This one isn't a commemorative and it has the regular loop. It caught my eye because of the 44-40 chambering which I don't remember seeing before from Miroku.

Mid 90s when Browning had Winchester reissues
IIRC they did the Model 12 in 20 ga or the 52 first.....then the lever guns. I was kinda hot for a 71. Buddy got the 1886. It had excellent fit and finish. Shot well too. Miroku makes the Browning Citori. They aint shabby. W todays metallurgy and processes id guess a Miroku Winchester of old design to be superior
