I have had good results with 4gr sport pistol and 124gr plated with my G17 & VP9 pouching paper @ avg 1051 fps
I also have 2k 115gr acme RN coated has anyone used the combo of 115gr and sport pistol I see lots of talk of sport
pistol and other 9mm projectiles but not as much with the lighter 115gr ?
I am thinking of starting off at 4.2 / 4.3gr and see how they fly

Dont have anything to add... except i just got a can of Sport Pistol specifically for 9mm, I'll be innersted on what everyone comes up with.

I would think your 4.2 would get you there, good starting point anyway. What FPS are you looking for?

4gr sport pistol and 124gr plated ... G17 & VP9 ... avg 1051 fps

sport pistol ... 115gr acme RN ... I am thinking of starting off at 4.2 / 4.3gr
I am finding Sport Pistol will require about .3 gr less than some of my W231/HP-38 loads. BTW, I use 4.3 gr of W231/HP-38 for 124 gr plated RN and your use of 4.0 gr Sport Pistol for 124 gr plated bullet to produce 1051 fps is another confirmation.

For me, W231/HP-38 and 115 gr FMJ/plated RN will start to reliably cycle the slide at around 4.3 gr and produce accuracy at 4.6 gr and I use 4.8 gr since it produces slightly smaller groups.

With Sport Pistol and .355" sized 115 gr FMJ/plated RN, I would start at 4.0 gr then work up.

Since you are using larger .356" sized coated bullet, I would even go down to 3.5 gr Sport Pistol as start charge and work up. If you want lighter target load, Sport Pistol will cycle slides at below 4.0 gr and depending on the velocity you are looking for, work up while watching accuracy trend.

Try loading 3.5, 3.8, 4.0 and 4.2 gr and see how they shoot.

I am going to try 4.1 , 4.3 , 4.5 and see how they fly, Alliant does have data for this specific bullet 115gr Acme coated RN max standard pressure 4.7 max and they even have +P data
listed for this combo with 5gr max
starting 10% below standard max 4.7 = 4.2gr

Well...as luck would have it, I've been messing around with sport pistol myself. I'm down to it, Accurate No7, and TightGroup as the best powders I've found (thus far) for 115g Hornady HAP projectiles.

Seating them to 1.080", I ran a test set over the chrono on Sat of 115g HAP over 4.5 gains of Sport Pistol and got 1135 fps average from 5' of muzzle in my 4.5" XDm. FYI, 6.9 grains of No7 got me a near identical 1132 fps average, power factor or 130.

I'd like to see that number closer to 1200 fps, so I'm going to up the powder a bit until I get there.

*EDIT*

Also forgot, 4.1 grains of TightGroup seated to the same using those HAP projectiles made an average of 1098 fps, 126 power factor. Those were run from my 550, which is currently set to throw 4.1-2 grains of TG. It seats Berry's 115g plated to 1.130" and over that powder, I was getting 1064 fps average.

At what COL? I have had best results with 4.3gr of SP for 124gr RN at 1.145.

I’m following this because I just picked up a few pounds of Sport Pistol and am going to be playing with it shortly.

I've got a load right now that seems to shoot great using Sport Pistol and it is within .1 gr of my W231/HP-38 load. I have no data to know exactly where I am at ( No Chrono) but my tests have showed they are similar but perhaps even closer than the .3 you witnessed. I am loading 4.1-4.2 of SP with an RMR 124gr FMJRN @ 1.135. Similarly same bullet and W231 I load 4.2-4.3gr. I need to work with SP a little more, but I think I like it better than W231/HP-38.

During the drought, I loaded up on Bullseye before Sport Pistol became readily available. I'm glad to hear it is working for people so I know when I need more powder I can readily switch to it.

tried them today all shot well with an edge to 4.3 , I am going to continue experimenting with this combo tweaking oal a bit and retrying 4.1, 4.2, 4.3,
