Anderson vs PSA lower reciever

It’s like Wendy’s vs Burger King the both do the same for the same price

I am biased. I can get the PSA with no shipping or transfer fees.

Other than that, I consider them equivalent.

Mine is an Anderson lower and PS upper. Just fine. It is only a $500 rifle with some add ons but it shoots just great...

No difference in performance, in my opinion. My LGS sells Andersons for $70 OTD. Which is like buying a $30 PSA and paying the LGS $30 transfer fee, with no wait for shipping and no credit card fees.

I have built Aero and Anderson lowers, and the word is that one or both make them for PSA. I would happily buy the least expensive of the three........I ain't jumping into Teheran or Kabul anytime soon.

My most accurate AR is a PSA Freedom upper with a 16" 1 in 7" barrel on a Anderson lower. So from a accuracy point view I don't see reason to use a PSA lower.

Over the years psa has had less problems than the pony lowers. I would rate Aero precision better than both.

I’ve used both and can’t tell much difference. When Anderson’s go on sale I buy a couple and throw them on the shelf. LGS does transfers for military and retirees for $5.

I guess I’m lucky. My LGS sells Anderson’s for $50.

A local AR assembler who is also an FFL said that Anderson is OEM for a lot of other brands lowers.

My only lower so far has been Anderson. And I was not impressed. The grip screw just would not thread. Turns out the threads in the Anderson lower were done improperly on the one I bought. I ended up getting a tap and redoing the threads to finish my AR build. A minor lack in attention to detail such as this makes me weary of buying Anderson lowers. I got a new lower as a future project or hold on to lower for future bans. When buying I asked the clerk "Do you have anything besides Anderson?"

I usually get my AR receivers at the local gun show. So far, an Anderson, an Aero and a Standard. I've had no problem with any of them. I like the over-travel set screw on the Standard, otherwise no preference.
Maybe I'll get a PSA next.

I have both. My PSAs look and feel (the finish) a little better than the Andersons.

I have two ARs. One that's a DD upper on an Aero lower, and another that's a BCM upper on an Anderson lower.

I can't tell a functional difference between the Aero and the Anderson, though I admit I haven't run the two of them over with a truck to see which one survives... I've also had good luck with PSA uppers and small components. I don't see much difference between PSA and Anderson, nor would I hesitate to purchase either one.

I have had 2 problems with the anderson lowers. Never used a PSA lower. but there other products are great, so i voted for them. I will never buy a pony again. Been using spikes and windham weaponry lowers.

I've had several Anderson lowers, and uppers, without problem and I'd not hesitate.

I've also had several PSA models and I will remain a customer. But there have been 2 problems:

First was a 20" 5.56 upper that would not keep all shots on an 8.5 x 11" sheet of paper once it got warm...PSA refunded without fuss.

Second was a PA-10 rifle, upper and lower (.308). It is heavy, nearly 10# with scope and mag. More important to me, the fit between the upper and lower was poor - a .050" gap at the rear mating areas, and lockup of upper/lower was loose.

The PA-10 rifle worked and was accurate, and for under $500 it was a great deal - but I wish the fit had been better.

Still, overall, I'd use either PSA or Anderson and see very little difference - both tend to be high quality and high value, maybe not always perfect.

They are pretty much the same except for one difference. Anderson doesn’t seem to tap the pistol grip screw hole deep enough so you have to use a shorter screw. I have found this to be the case on 3 of them so far. FWIW I like the look of the palmetto lower better but it is purely an aesthetic preference.

If you go with PSA, you need to make sure that you don't transfer it from the FFL until you inspect it. I got one today that I didn't notice was scratched to hell on the rear until I got home, and they won't do anything except issue a blem credit, should they deem fit. They won't make it right be replacing it or by refinishing it.
