I had an hour to kill yesterday and did something stupid. Decided to stop by a local gun shop and wander around.

I’ve been thinking that my next pistol purchase would be a full size CZ and they had quite a few in stock.

First one that caught my eye was a polished SS CZ 75B. It was pretty but I didn’t like the trigger.

They had 3 SP01’s. One of them was an Omega. I liked those.

Then the guy says check these out. So he goes to the back and brings out a CZ75 Tac Sport Orange. Really liked that one.

Picking up on the fact that he might be able to squeeze another grand from a potential sale he pulls out something made at the CZ Custom shop that was fantastic. It was double action. No slide release. Trigger was unbelievable. Price was $2k. My mind was occupied on how nice this pistol felt and what excuses I was going to come up with to explain this ridiculous purchase to Mrs Nature.

I quickly gave it back to him, gave my head a shake and and got the hell out of there before doing something I’d regret later.

Here’s the problem. I don’t know what model that last pistol was and I’m afraid to go back in there and look at it again.

Anyone have any ideas based on my limited description?

You got out just in time.

I did something similar to you. I didn't get out in time, and came home with a Shadow 2 Black & Blue.

The Tactical Sport Orange is really nice, but another $400 bucks. And the Checkmate is a whole bunch more, but my oh my, what a wonderful trigger.

These CZ's are a joy.

Sometimes buying something you want, but not need can really make you happy. I've indulged a couple of times recently, first with the Sig P226 SSE about 7 months ago, then there was the NIB Jericho 941, and most recently, a CZ Custom Shop P-07. I didn't need any of them. I either have a clone of them, a lower end version of them, or a cosmetically challenged one. or a combination. That P-07 is really nice to shoot! Well, they all are, actually.

I say get it. I just got my CZ75 back from Custom shop and it is amazing. Wish I could shoot consistently good as this pistol shoots. It is smooth as butter and shoots lights out. I still want a S2 but have to save my nickels back up. If I sell my CZ97B then I will get it. Wait and see. At the age of some of us it’s only money don’t have kids home though grandkids seem cost even more at times. It’s only want and why not worked a lifetime and still working so enjoy. The custom CZ are awesome.

I've been eyeing those for like 2 years. I've only heard good things.

Here's the problem, you left but were still thinking about it. Insidious thing isn't it? Love at first sight I mean.
Who needs a pistol like that?
I asked the same question this week about a 38 Super. The answer to whether or not I need it is that I'm going back on Saturday to work out a deal. I love THR but logic and sensible use of money are not topics it supports well.

I recommend you just walk in, tell her you need to show her something. Open the box, point it in the air, and give her a hearty Nature Boy "Woooooooo!"

How could she get upset after that?

You've been talking about a CZ pistol for awhile. Your well being is clearly in jeopardy.

Just get any CZ, and install a comp hammer. I prefer the DA/SA models, so I can install the flat triggers, and convert to SA.

Right on, with safety^^^^
I learned how to decock a revolver many years ago, don't need any help with a lever. If there's a lever out there, make mine be useful please:)

I would call myself a 1911 guy who enjoys other platforms. Several months ago, I sold a Sig and bought a CZ Shadow 2 for my first CZ. I had never fired any CZ and I was blown away the first time I shot the S2. Amazing gun! Now I'm about to buy a P 01 for my wife and am thinking about selling my G19 and getting a 75 compact. I don't know where CZs have been all my life.

I put an S2 on order yesterday. I can’t wait.

I have a Shadow2. Really like it. The blue anodized grips are a little pimp to me, but can live with them :) All the weight combined with the nice trigger, it's easy to run it very fast.

The only complaint I have is if you do have an issue & need to rack the slide, there's nothing to grab really. End up pressing on a bench or something..... Not in normal use - enough for that - but something needs some encouragement to extract, not enough slide to grab for me.

Been eyeing a CZ75 polished stainless for a while now. But i never shot a standard production 75 and no where around to handle one. waiting for the day some LGS gets a 75b in stock so i can play with the trigger. I assume it will be close to the same on the 75b

CZ's really encourage the old-school "pinch"/slingshot grip on the back of the slide, not the tactically-approved overhand rack stuff. Plenty of grip for the former (which creates a lot of pressure over a relatively small surface area), not for the latter (much lower pressure over larger area.... unless there's not enough area).
