So I have been lusting after a Kershaw Leek for a while now and last week at the local big box lumberyard they had them on sale , and I decided I had to have one ! It was a good purchase. After using it for a week as my E.D.C. I like it alot ,it is wicked sharp and after getting a feel for it it's quick to open . The Leek has a sturdy lock and a pocket clip . It looks like it'll last a lifetime if someone doesn't boost it on me or I loose it . I think it would be worth a look if your needing a new pocket knife .
 
I have 2, one with a plain blade, one partially serrated. The quality is there. But I rarely carry them anymore. The blade shape just doesn't suit many of my uses.
 
I also have 2 of them. One black with partially serrated blade and one silver with a straight blade... OP, do you see where you are headed?

I ordered both online from some super sale. They are my favorite knife. I removed the blade lock from the black knife because it was too loose and always slipped to locked in my pocket which was a pain for quick deployment when I need to use it. I have never had either of them open accidentally.
 
Love mine to death for work, but I switched to a $15 Gerber the other day as my wife would kill me if I broke/lost that knife. It is CRAZY sharp and stays that way as long as I don't get stupid and use it to cut things I shouldn't. Be careful of the tip as it will poke you if you aren't careful.
 
I've had my all black partial serrated for a few years. Thought the tip would be fragile, but I guess I'm a little careful with it and it's holding up. Steel is decent, stays sharp for quite a while.

You should enjoy yours.
 
My wife uses a Kershaw Leek that she picked up a couple of years ago at SMKW. One of the sharpest factory edges I have ever seen, and I haven't had to touch it yet. She loves it.
 
I have only known of the liner lock version. Darn, I may have to update my gifting of these fine little knives. Easy to carry, light, wicked sharp and unobtrusive. :)
 
Got a bunch of food crud in the folding area of my Leek and it wouldn't open fully with the assist. Stuck it in the dishwasher in the open position and had it go through a full cycle.

I'm sure this is not recommended by the factory, but it looks no worse for wear and operates now as it should. Have to get a little food grade mineral oil and throw a drop in the works.

Takes a licking....
 
Like almost everyone else it seems, I have a pair of them. One a partially serrated blade, and the other a "composite" blade like the picture in sparkyv's post above.
 
I'm not a fan of slab sided knives but Kershaw sells the same knives with a more rounded profile just for me :uhoh:.
The 1776 and OSO Sweet being my most favorites.
Like most everything I own/I modify, adding some jibbing on the back:

I've lost too many knifes when using pocket clips, so I remove them...

I must have gotten a bad batch of Leeks, because I’ve sent two back to Kershaw with broken tips. No complaint from Kershaw CS as they replaced the knives in a week or so.

I bought 4 Leeks when I caught them on sale for $20 a piece. Started carrying them as I loved the slim size in my work dress (business casual), but the tips breaking were a pain. I will attach a photo of them along with a few other Kershaw knives I really like, including the one that still needs to be replaced. My Leeks have a different type of blade than y’all’s do...is it inferior?

The composite blade is Superior, not inferior. But it is D2, so it is a little prone to chipping.

$20 apiece for a composite blade? What a bargain! :eek:

You can see where I tried to jib the back of the blade on the top knife...nope, the steel is way too hard :uhoh:
And love the longer hilt of the OSO/1776 over the Leek design.
Has prevented me from cutting myself :uhoh:
