357 mag carbine load?

So now I have almost a pound of IMR 4759 that needs a place to burn. I may try it in the 357 lever action with the 185gr bullet with some different primers.

Well, with your 11 gr powder charge, you should run out of your 4759 about the same time as you run our of your 500, 180 gr Pugnose. Do you not like the pugnose bullets and need to "burn" them up too? How about the primers and your time? While I reload to save money, I do not reload to waste it. Altho I reload for a hobby and enjoy it, I don't use it as an excuse to waste time. Over the years I have purchased components that do not work for the purpose I intended. I, like you used to try and use them up somehow as to not "waste" my money. What I discovered tho, was that in a vain attempt to use that $10 worth of inappropriate powder, I was wasting more in projectiles, primers, case life and my time and effort, than $10. While I love to shoot, I don't shoot anymore just to make noise and send projectiles randomly downrange. Many times, this is what I found I was doing by trying to "burn" up random inappropriate components. I also discovered, spending time working up loads for inappropriate and discontinued components, was better spent on working up loads for appropriate components that would be available to me again in the future.

While I applaud your effort to use what you have, and am not attempting to tell you how to spend your time and your monies, I personally would use that remaining 4759 for fertilizing my wife's flower bed.

These bullets did not shoot as well as I would like in my Ruger Sec. Six w/a 2.75" barrel, they do okay accuracy wise in the lever action and they feed well. One load in the lever action that I liked was 13.7gr of Lil-Gun and a GM-200. I did notice that the bases of these bullet are not very square to the bearing surface of the bullet.
I loaded ten more to test, five with a CCI 400 at 11.1gr and five with WSR at 11.1gr. I will try these at 50 yds and if one of these loads group well I will load up fifty for sweetie.

I did notice some leading with this load that average 1650 FPS, does MBC give a speed limit for their high tech coated bullets?
With the IMR 4759 at 1280 ish fps there was no leading.
I may try the Accurate 5744 just for fun.
