Going to buy a 45 - suggestions?

I have a Springfield XDs 45 it’s my current EDC. It shoots decent and is well made. So if looking for a compact it’s a good option.

I also have a full size M&P in 9mm and it’s super nice. If I was looking for a 45 I’d look at the M&P and the M&P compact.

You can't go wrong with a P220!!

I have a Beretta PX4 Storm, a G21, and, a G30 in .45acp.

The first question is high capacity or single stack? second question, full size or compact?

Something, anything, in .45 Long Colt.

I vote for a LC as well!

Consider a revolver in 45 ACP. There are several good choices. New ones, as well as the WW 1 model 1917 from both Colt and S&W. If you want to try a 1917, the S&W is generally a nicer shooter than the Colt

If you want a classic SAA, I would suggest an Uberti or a Pietta rather than the pricier alternatives.

I have a Colt 2nd Generation as well as several Ubertis and the Ubertis are just about as good in quality.

Get a lever gun .45-70

Get a .45ACP/ .45LC Ruger blackhawk convertible. Best of both worlds.

There are a number of formats to operate ".45 caliber" in.
The SIG P220 is fun.
There's a Taurus.
HK makes a couple (including a version of the MK 23)
Even a Glock (or three).

Now, on a different tack than above, there's also .454casul, which will also shoot .45colt as well.

There's even a modern-made copy of hte .45 Luger offered up during the 1911 pistol trials (but, it's a tad spendy).

You are likely to have an easier time selecting in 5 years []; however, in 15 years, you are going to find choices in .60cal few and far between []

Ruger Blackhawk. It handles loads that would blow a Colt to pieces. The adjustable sights will prevent harsh language when shooting a variety of loads and bullet weights. Good service from an American company if ever needed. Not the most expensive choice you have been offered.

And now I know which revolver caliber I'm getting when I reach age 47 and 6 months.
