Donor Uprising at the NRA?

We can post links to everything that any org does, I never said the NRA is useless. I am staying however that they are too toxic to continue existence. Even if it was altered the stigma associated with it to the average person let alone the liberals will damage anything with their name on it.

If I go to the doctor and he tells me to drop 40 pounds, is he bashing me? Or is he telling me to get my s*** together before a bunch of really bad things happen to me and everyone who depends on me?

Like everyone bashing the NRA in these threads you are trying to prove your point without any facts.

A bunch of really bad things can happen in November 2020 and I doubt this issue will be resolved before then. In the meantime, the NRA will be left without funds to fight for our RKBA ... which is IMHO the exact goal of the anti-NRA religion.

btw ... do you need to lose 40 lbs, do it after Monday :D

This is my biggest issue with the whole situation. There is so much "he said, she said", finger pointing, deflecting, and sweeping under the rug, that there is no way to truly know what is actually going on. I for one don't trust either side to be telling the whole truth, but I would like to see a whole lot more transparency on the NRA's part.

Well, at least I posted their letter. I did search for a response to the NYT article and there is none yet. I will definitely post that if/when I find it. I do want to point out that only the pro-NRA side posts data while the other side just tosses bombs and hyperbole.

For example over a half dozen mentions have been made in the NRA membership declining and each time we have asked for data to corroborate this, to this date and through at least four threads, no data to support this has been provided.

And I appreciate their words, but it basically boils down to, "We are always under attack. If there is a problem, we will handle it ourselves." Of course, again, it is still unclear what all the NRA is supposed to actually be "guilty of."

Supporting Trump in 2016.
Touche. To be clear, your position is well known, and, believe it or not, I truly want to give them the benefit of the doubt. It just appears that they are not being as forthcoming as they could, but, as I said, there is so much smoke, it is impossible to see where the fires are.

And now, I will bow out, to allow new info to be posted, and to NOT be the reason for another thread closure, because, I TRULY want to have as much info as possible in this situation.

No offense to you either, but it is the belief that only the NRA can do something that prohibits their members from going elsewhere. If your not supporting the GOA and SAF who are actually fighting then your just throwing away money to the NRA. The membership as well as the leadership is to blame.

It is not my belief that “only the NRA can do something” it is my belief that they do something more than all the rest combined... admittedly that’s not always a good thing. The accusation that giving to the NRA is “just throwing away money” well that’s obviously not true. At least in reality.

And for what it’s worth, I support the NRA (though not lately), the GOA, the SAF, the FPC and my state group. I like to spread the love, can’t think of a reason not to.

The anti-2A forces have done an excellent job of stigmatizing, marginalizing and dividing the NRA (although the organization itself left the door open to their concerted attacks). I hear more people being divided off from the 800lb gorilla of gun rights now than I ever have, talk of pulling funds and letting it die abound, and the timing just couldn't be better..... for the other side.

Your right it wasn't thrown away your support for the NRA gave way for them to support the bump stock ban.

No other organization provides training and programs to introduce youths to the shooting sports. The moderator said I cannot post the links again but I'm sure you can find them. For example, the NRA supports the BSA firearms training programs.

We have reached the point, that we may just shut down NRA threads after the first post because you folks are incapable of not going off into same old political crap. I've reached my saturation point and will shut this, delete posts and issues warnings - as I clearly stated the bounds of this discussion.
