The first four pics are what came to me.
The next pics are what I did.
I used electrolysis to remove the big rust. Steel wool and bluing got rid of some more.

Shaping the wood and adding the maple and ebony (who knew ebony is so hard to shape?).

My son did the wood finishing after I shaped and sanded. He also helped me get the fore end correct.

This is for a friend who isn’t expecting to get it back. Planning to give it to him on the 4th.

Man I learned a lot.

I have to test fire it. Not simple though as the nearest range is a ways away... I’ll figure something out. Or take him with me...

Came out beautiful ! Congratulations. Those old Winchester 67 series rifles are worth saving. They are generally very accurate, also. My mod. 67 sure is. Please post a report after you get it to the range.

You can see some flyers. I’d like to be a better shot. But as you can see the rifle is better than I am.

First frame offhand at 10 yards.
I put the rear sight in a little bit after these 15.
Second frame offhand and settled at 17. This was after I shot my 38 and my other .22. May have been less disciplined and a little more tired.
