Ordered a LE Trade-In Taurus 82 to pick up soon, what to look for? Any Taurus 82 specific or LE Trade-In specific issues that should pay attention to? While it is LE Trade-In and likely from other countries, Taurus "Life Time" warranty may not apply if it worth anything anyway. Did my Google, not much found except general revolver inspections.
Don't need to get into trashing Taurus, I know it is not S&W, Ruger or even Colt. Thanks.

I'm a Taurus revolver lover. I own quite a few Taurus wheel guns. Never a problem with any of them.
As for inspection process there is a sticky here on the revolver forum that walks you through it.

What Law Enforcement agency issued a Taurus? Revolver or self loader, I can not think of any agency that would not specify one of the bigger, proven names for firearms.

They were issued to police departments but not in the US.

Brazil, Chile, Indonesia, and Hong Kong (from
Wikipedia)

Mine has some finish wear from a holster but I don’t think it has been fired much. Locks up tight. I haven’t fired it on paper but just plinking with it it is reasonably accurate.

Mine was under $200 including shipping and FFL transfer. A nice little revolver for way less than a S&W Model 10.

A Taurus 82 was one of the first handguns I ever owned. I don't know how many 38 wadcutters I fired through that gun, but it was a bunch. Shot just fine. Of course that was before the internet so I didn't know "everyone" would tell me what junk they were. ;) :) The only thing I remember that I didn't like about it was the grips, but a T-grip took care of that. Sold it later to buy something else.

Check it out just like you would any revolver. Sticky at the top I believe.

KY Gun Co does have some good deals. That YT vid was put up 2 weeks ago. Most folks only focus on the word "blem" and not the other term: "refurbished". There's a world of difference between the two. Blem could mean a scratch or uneven finish. Nothing wrong with that. But a refurbished firearm conjures up all sorts of possibilities namely a customer returned piece that had mechanical problems. And the firearms get lumped into one big category: blem & refurbished...not knowing precisely what you're getting.

AIM had some the other day in stainless, sold out the same day. Can I assume that's where the OP ordered his from?

Please let us know how the inspection goes.

Picked up my Taurus 82 today, it is tight and the metal is in very good condition just a few scratches here and there, it is a "polished" stainless gun, scratches show, grip is worn just as advertised, no big deal. What surprised me is it is marked Taurus Int Mfg Miami FL USA and no import mark, I didn't think US LE departments would use Taurus. Being Taurus USA, I guess the "Life Time" warranty applies. Happy with the purchase.

EDIT 7/3 10PM: Found my S/N at Taurus website, says
Model 2-820049
Description M82 4in SS 38 SPEC SB FS HB
I was hoping to find manufacturing year. I know they stopped the stainless model around 2014/2015. It has a hammer safety, so can't be too old!

Yes, it is the $199 Taurus 82 from AIM.
