This is one of those deals where if banned arms have been in a third country for over 20 years, they are then eligible to importation.

So AIM has received a shipment of used Chinese SKS's made by Norinco factory 26, and are C&R eligible.

All good except I find the prices to be pretty high, but maybe I'm behind the times and these are current market prices.

I think it largely depend where you are. Here in FL, you cant give away an SKS. I see them languishing on the shelves at $300.
But in states with magazine restrictions, I can understand them commanding a premium.

I had a beautiful Yugo parts matching SKS. I sold it and regret doing so. Yes, it is big, heavy and clunky but was pretty cool.
I was looking at the AIM ad and hemming and hawing should I or not.:)

I have to wonder why we haven't seen all those Vietnam SKSs. Is this the beginning of it? Follow with North Korea's! my C&R is due to renew again, maybe I should keep it for a few years. Not at this price!

They will continue to trickle in as more turn c&r every year since they now know how to date triangle 26 manufactured rifles. Since these are now becoming c&r combined with the fact they have been in Albania for decades, ATF allows them to be imported as "Albanian". This is how Chinese rifles can be imported under the ban. The rifles are considered of Albanian origin according to ATF since they have been there for a number of years. I can't remember how long that period is though.

Prices on these are high for the condition IMHO.

Don't you have a nice Russian SKS that a good friend sold to you very cheap?

Many years ago I was wandering a gun show with a P38 for sale or trade. I saw a nice refurbished soviet SKS and asked if a trade deal could be made. Well, I walked away with a refurb SKS and $200.00 more dollars to buy ammo with.
A pretty good deal in my book.

Y’all have to remember. We’re not going see new made SKS ever again, they are only so many around that aren’t ruined by bubba or some fudd. They’re not longer a working man gun; but now more of a collecter gun. Same thing happened to Mausers, Springfields, Krags, and more.

Mosins are about the same price as a SKS. Honestly an AR is better than sks in a practical standard point.

I see the Moisins for 300+ around here.
I'd agree with that figure, some dealers are even asking more. They are the latest import in large numbers, we all remember how cheap they were when they first came out. Their rise in price was relatively fast compared to SKS's.

I don't think you can compare an AR to a SKS. The SKS's being sold are at this point collectibles with history in addition to being a shooter, and the market reflects that.

We see the same thing in prices of older Colt AR's as compared to PSA kits.

Very true....apples and pizze...only thing in common is they are both food.

To me, they will always be $100 rifles. I remember them for $75. If someone had told me 20 years ago that a decent AR would one day be cheaper than a SKS I would have accused that person of drug use.
Agreed, but also I always wondered what magical factors were making the AR's so expensive. Roll pins, plastic, and aluminum tubes.

...and they will soon sell out.
