Angled Foregrip

It is to help facilitate the Chris Costa over-exaggerated C-clamp grip. Outside of that, it may or may not improve ergonomics for your personal shooting style. I had one on my first carbine, and my pistol, and liked it, due to keeping my off hand closer to the mag well. As my hand moves toward the muzzle, I prefer a more horizontal grip. YMMV

Well...it's great for pistol AR's. Not sure I'd ever want one on a rifle-length (I prefer "folders"). But the Bushnell Haste might be interesting:

Its just personal preference/comfort. They work well for holding your AR in tight for rapid aimed fire, and they won't interfere with firing from support as bad as a vertical grip. I competed in a multi-gun event yesterday against some very talented shooters, I don't think I saw a single vertical grip and few angled grips.

I've run the gambit, but after multiple carbine classes and a couple years shooting 3 GUN, I've gone to a simple handstop that works well with barricades. Carbine class I took last year I think I saw a couple VFG and a couple angled, the majority of the guns were "clean". Most matches I hardly see any of either.

I usually put on a bit of rail so the back of it is about where your "hand stop" is. Does about what the hand stop does and lets me throw on a QD bi-pod. Downside is it can chew up sandbags if you get the bag too far forward. I've also never warmed up to vertical grips or the angled grips. I think I did give them a fair trial.

I like them on an sbr. On a rifle, not so much.

I've been looking at the Stark Equipment AFG as my handguard gets a bit toasty even at leisurely range sessions. Might just go with a DD vert grip as it's a little less...aggressive in style. We'll see.

I just swapped out my Grip Pod for an AFG on my Saiga .223 last week, and I like the AFG a lot more. It's completely up to personal preference though. I made the switch because I've got a quad rail on my AK and the rifle is pretty front heavy. The AFG allows me to move the foregrip closer to the magwell without interfering with changing out magazines, thus balancing out a little more of the weight in the frontof the rifle.

I put an AFG or AFGII on every AK rifle I have with a rail underneath and if they don't have a rail I put one on. The further out the better because I am long armed and AK's are a carbine, and as Seanie said, AK's with a quad rail (or other accessories forward of the receiver) get a bit front heavy. My approach is opposite, further forward for better leverage out front. For me it gives superior comfort and control than a vertical grip which causes my wrist to cant in a way I don't like. The AFG and Magpul pistol grip are far and away my favorite AK furniture mods.
