I picked up a brand new Glock 19 gen 5 for $405 total out the door yesterday. I haven’t shot it yet, but I have dry fired it and can tell a marked improvement over the gen 3’s which are the Glocks which I shoot most often. I wasn’t sure about not having finger grooves, but I like it. I am looking forward to firing it later this week. I intend to put some TFX Pro sights on it.

Very nice, good price. I definitely think the Gen 5 trigger is the best of the Glocks I've tried, 3 being better than 4 and it's been too long since I've shot a 2 to rate it. My 19x (gen 5 trigger) is my best shooting Glock for sure.

I also really like the no grooves on the 19 specifically, though I don't love the cutout on the front strap, but there are Pierce baseplates to use if it bugs you.

OK, that seems like a deal.

After you get to know it. It would be interesting to hear how you feel about the finger grooves.

Not how they feel, but how the gun handles and shoots.

$405 for a Gen 5 is a good deal. Around here, used Gen 5's go for at least $50-75 more.

I have a Gen 5 17 and 45, and really dont notice the difference between them and my Gen 3 and 4 Glocks with the finger grooves when I shoot them. I dont mind, or even notice the finger grooves, they line up perfectly on my hand, so its kind of a moot point.

The one thing with the Gen 5 19's that does bug me, is they went back to that "mag rip" cutout on the front strap, like they had on the early 19's. The 19's grip is cramped enough for me, and my pinkie ends up right on that cutout, and its very annoying and uncomfrotable when you shoot.

Pierce Grips has a fix for the cutout.

That would help, but its just more stuff to have to buy.

They did away with it on the Gen 3 and 4's, dont understand the need to bring it back.

The "new" Gen 5 models (17 and 19 MOS, and 45) all have gotten rid of the cutout, so it's possible they will phase them back out again, which is good IMO as I hate them (moreso on the 19 over the 17, due to hand size)

I grabbed one under the Blue Label program and dropped a 3.5 lb Ghost connector in it. Had a Gen 3 in the past but think the 5 is much better all around.

I have a Gen 5 G19X & G45. I had a Gen 3 Glock 34 and Gen 3 G19. The finger grooves on the G34 (17 frame) lined perfectly with my fingers and I didn’t notice them. The G19 grooves did not line up and drive me nuts. I could never find the right grip. Rather than modify the gun I sold it.

I considered buying a Gen 5 G19 but opted for the 19X and 45.

That’s a pretty good price on that 19, giggitygiggity. Let us know how it shoots.

I shot it yesterday and am thoroughly impressed. It shoots incredibly well (accurate and reliable) and fits like a glove. Glock did great work with the generation 5 guns.
