Adding CI 40 gr CP RN to the list. I have not shot this ammo but like Aguila, it is made in Mexico and found this review showing average 1000 fps out of Sig 1911/GSG 1911 and 1143 fps out of carbine barrel.

CI 40 gr CP RN at $12.99/500 + shipping ($14.54/500 in 5000 quantity) is the cheapest copper plated 22LR on sale right now. For 10,000 quantity, shipping drops to $19 and price drops to even lower $13.94/500. :thumbup::thumbup:

And another Sig 1911/GSG 1911 review

The Aguila .22LR ("high velocity") I bought at Academy is reliable in my M&P, but feels so weak that I expected freq. malfunctions. No malfunctions yet in about 100 total rds.

Somehow it has enough powder to be ok practice ammo, but feels wimpy compared to Rem. Golden Bullet.

Both Aguila 40 gr Lead RN Standard Velocity (1130 fps) and 40 gr CP RN High Velocity (1255 fps) have been reliable in ignition and extracted/ejected 100% in my GSG 1911, 10/22 (Lead/CP RN) and ARs using CMMG conversion kits (CP RN).

They have been the most accurate 22LR behind CCI Blazer 40 gr Lead RN from current production 22LR I have bought within the past year.

I am out of town at the moment but can do some chrono testing after I return back home.

Looks like I'll have to give Aguila a try. I have a 'membership' at Target Sports and pay about .04 to .05, shipped, for CCI SV and mini mags but I purchase by the full case.

I believe there is a growing concensus to the accuracy of Aguila 22LR verified by various reviews and comparison 25/50/100 yard accuracy testing. In my 25/50 yard comparison testing, they outshot all bulk and most boxed except CCI Blazer 40 gr LRN (At 50 yards, Blazer Lead RN produced sub 1" groups while Aguila Lead/CP RN produced slightly larger than 1" groups. In comparison, Federal bulk packs produced 3" shotgun patterns).

Even when they switched from Eley prime to Aguila prime, accuracy degradation wasn't that bad and my latest 50 yard testing actually showed comparable group size so Aguila maybe improving their priming.

So if I am buying in bulk, I won't hesitate to stock up on Aguila.

Recently, I stocked up on Armscor 36 gr CP HP when Cabela's sold them for $14.88/500 shipped and to my surprise, accuracy was good right behind Aguila. So I will gladly stock up on Armscor 22LR also.

Happy days are here again!

Durning the last "Great Shortage", thought I would never see 22LR for under $20, let alone under $15. :D

Time to stock up deep of your choice of 22LR. (You will thank me later ;) Last year and earlier this year, we did similar in Handloading & Reloading when primers were sold for $20/1000)

Happy days! :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

From a couple days ago...

More ammo flavor testing, and some bad news that I'll save to the end.
All ammo bought from SG Ammo.

Firearm: Beretta M9-22
Distance: 10 meters
10 rounds per magazine

CCI AR Tactical Ammo Copper Plated Round Nose
CCI0956
.22LR 40gr
Lot #: NLN
Rounds: 40
Mag 1 Round 3: Failure to Load (weak feeling prior round)
Mag 2 Round 10: Failure to Lock Back
Mag 4 Round 10: Failure to Lock Back
Pretty soft feeling ammo, which would explain the noted failures as not enough energy.

Fiocchi 22LR High Velocity CPRN
22FHVCRN
.22LR 40gr
Lot #: NLN
Rounds: 45
Mag 1 Round 4: Failure to Ignite. Re-chambering and striking in a new spot had it work.
Recoil had some spice, but still pretty tame.

Federal Game Shok Copper Plated Solid High Velocity Ammo
FED710
.22LR 40gr
Lot #: NLN
Rounds: 30
Mag 1 Round 10: Failure to Lock Back
Mag 2 Round 3: Failure to Load
Mag 2 Round 6: Failure to Load
Mag 2 Round 8: Failure to Load
Mag 2 Round 10: Failure to Lock Back
Mag 3 Round 6: Failure to Extract
Mag 3 Round 7: Failure to Load
Mag 3 Round 9: Failure to Load
Mag 3 Round 10: Failure to Lock Back
I aborted further testing after the 3rd mag, as it's obvious this isn't strong enough to cycle the M9-22 correctly.
Recoil was very mild.

CCI Clean-22 Target Ammo Red Polycoat Round Nose High Velocity
CCI944CC
.22LR 40gr
Lot #: D04A214
Rounds: 50
Mag 2 ROund 2: Failure to Load
This one seemed to get hung up on the feed ramp. As I was putting the gun downn to take a picture though, the slide went home and chambered the round.
Mag 5 ROund 10: Failure to Lock Back
Pretty light recoil; very easy to get back on target between shots.

Remington Viper Ammo Truncated Cone 1410 FPS Hyper Velocity
REM1900
.22LR 36gr
Lot #: NLN
Rounds: 30
Mag 1 Round 4: Failure to Load
Mag 2 Round 2: Failure to Load
Mag 2 Round 3: Failure to Load
Mag 2 Round 4: Failure to Load
Stout recoil. Stronger than the Fiocchi tested today, but not nearly as violent as that CCI Stinger stuff from last time. (I think the Stinger stuff gave me PTSD. Ok, not really, but it's still a memorable round!)
Very dirty ammo to handle. Also don't like the box; major pain to get individual rounds out.
As the pictures below show, the step shaped bullet can get caught on the feed ramp pretty easily. This was the cause of every FTL I experienced.

0702191234a.jpg.small.jpg
The first 10 rounds thous were pretty promising for accuracy.
0702191235.jpg.small.jpg
Things fell apart a bit though for the next pair of mags,

Now, for the bad news of the day.
The M9-22 broke the safety lever axle again. Looks like i'm putting another call into Beretta.
Last time it broke after about 3500 rounds.
This time it went about 3100 rounds before breaking the same part.

just left a message with Beretta CS for a call back.

Not quite that cheap, but worth mentioning...
.22 LR ARMSCOR HIGH VELOCITY HP 36GR 2500RD AMMO
But that's $19.99/500 even before shipping ...

We have the same ammo listed for less:

That would be why I said it wasn't that cheap...
