Will a STREAMLIGHT TLR-1 hold up on a shotgun or would I be better off with something else this will see a lot of use at the range

I would rock it. Mine has been fine on a glock 22 for years. And i put it on my my ar15 a few times. Never had a issue.
I have one on my G21 i just wasn't sure that it would hold up on my 12ga looks like I'll give it a go
thank you all LD

If I am spending my own money on a gun light, it will be a Streamlight. If it is taxpayer money, Surefire gets the nod.

As for the TLR-1. I have one that s near 20YO TLR-1 an Ithaca 37 and a 01YO TLR-1 on my wife's newly-configured Rem870 Police Magnum.

Oh, also bought a TLR-1 game sight for my daughter's AR15 in 6.5Grendel.

So, yeah, TLR-1 is good stuff for use by non-mil, non-LEO sorts.

Check out the Inforce WML and WMLx. The single cell (CR123) WML is 100 lumens brighter than the TLR-1 and the 2 cell WMLx is 500 lumens brighter. They are MIL-STD-810G tested and certified (the TLR-1 is 810F, which is essentially the same certificatiion). I like the integrated mount and the activation button is very natural to reach with a thumb. (Better than the rocker switch on the TLR-1, imo. They are also a lower profile than the TLR-1. The TLR-1 is a pistol light, while the WML/x were designed as lights for long arms. I have a WMLx on my AK and a WML on my 590 shotgun and really like them.

Edit: Pricewise, they are pretty close. Right now on OpticsPlanet, the WML is $10 less than a TLR-1 while the WMLx is $10 more.

Pics of both lights mounted to show size. The AK has a 16" barrel and the not-a-shotgun is a Shockwave with a 14" barrel.
