I was witness to the accuracy of a Chinese SKS.

I ask the guy if his scope was lose. He didn't say anything, just walked away.
Likely the scope was lose, if not accurate enough to put a scope on, he likely would not! Also, the dust cover scope mounts are typically not secured enough to put a standard scope on, mini scope should be fine. My good SKSs shoot as well as my FAL and Garand, groups US Quarter size at 50 yds. Problem with SKS is the headspace tolerance is wide, spent casing from my best SKS fits in the chamber of my worst SKS and close the bolt with no problem. Chinese SKSs typically have lighter/better trigger than other countries' SKSs and SKS triggers can be tuned.

True, but we’re not talking about Canada in the end. These are “ new “ rifles. Not some rifle that’s been shot to oblivion, touched by bubba, or just falling apart. So the market is there and people are buying them for that price. Now if people are getting their money worth is up to you.

Judging from the photo on the AIM website they aren't "new". They look like any other milsurp, rode hard and put away wet. Just fair condition would be my guess.

I have to back up here, I made a mistake. It wasn't an SKS, it was an AK 47 clone of some type.

I don't follow foreign milsurp so probably should just keep my mouth shut.

General conversation seems to be SKS's are more accurate than AK's but less accurate than AR's. I can live with that.

I was lucky enough to be around when they were selling new in the box Norinco SKS's for less than $100, I still enjoy mine. The latest batch that AIM and Classic have do look a little tired externally, but with their chrome lined barrels will probably shoot fine. Just call it patina..... lol

AIM is now selling a 2nd grade for $299.95.
