Not quite, but it pops a soda bottle much better than a fifty five grain!:D

We know what Keyfer means, just having fun.:)

To that,

50 grn V-Max

23.5 grns TAC
CCI 400
2600Fps 16 inch 1/7

Lapua brass - 1.755 .016 short, Annealed
75 grn Hornady BTHP
1.916 CBTO no crimp
25.82 grns CFE 223
CCI 450
3100 fps 30 inch 1/7
I knew you were joking. I had to go back and re-read his post to see that he actually didn't mention the cartridge when I read your first post.

I have found 69 grain Sierra Match Kings (the HP, non-tipped variety) and Varget powder to make loads that shoot very well in a variety of AR's, although I don't know if I've put them through a 1:9 twist. I think a 1:9 should be able to digest them just fine. That combo doesn't seem to be very sensitive to small variances in powder weight, nor to seating depth.

I hear another shooter - a far better rifle shooter than me - say that if a .223/5.56 rifle won't shoot a SMK/Varget combo, then that rifle just won't shoot.

A Three Hundred Blackout load would work with a nine twist as well, but I haven't even taken the plastic wrap off the die box yet.

Of course, one should be sure the barrel is of thirty caliber, too!:D

The one factory load I buy is for my Blackout. I need cases. And they shoot so well, verily the only Remington ammunition I've had do so.

Wow, a lot of you loading with H335.

55gr Speer SP (#1047)
25.4gr AA2230
CCI #41
2.24" oal
I usually sort the brass although there's little difference in accuracy between the brands I use.

25.8 gr. BL-C(2), your choice of 55 gr. FMJ, ( I usually buy Hornady bulk), CCI 400, range brass, mostly LC, 2.23"OAL. Topped with 55 V-Max, it is my son's hunting load. Topped with Nosler 55 gr. Varmint, it's mine.

And Power Pro Varmint. I loaded up a bottle of it some time ago, when I couldn't get BL-C(2); Good loads, but I went back to BL-C(2) after, the load I listed above works too good to switch.

I have used 8308, H335, BLC(2) and TAC.
My two rifles both seem to like BlC(2) and TAC, close call between the two but I give TAC the nod.
All meter well when throwing charges.

1:9” twist down to 11.5” has been fine for me with 69smk’s. 77smk’s are sometimes compromised in short 1:9” barrels, but that’s why we created the 69’s.

I found my 1in 7 barrels shoot 62gr better than 55 and my 1in 12 barrel shoots 55 and 52gr better. I've not tried different powders just H335 and have only tried the 3 bullets weights listed abd am happy with my results so far.
