Recently sighted in my .54 caliber TC New Englander muzzleloader. Consistently hit the 6" gong at 78 yards: Minute of deert/hog. Also confirmed the zero of the .50 caliber TC Black Diamond inline muzzle loading rifle.

Come on Fort Sill muzzleloader season.

It's amazing how fast the summers go by up here. When spring came, I had a huge to do list. Half of it is not done and time is almost up. Definitely not ready for hunting season. Won't be able to even go do any scouting prior to opening day.
ya time flys lol. i m thinking of trying state and for the first time, so i need to go out to look. hope to get out for small game in september to scout some.

My guns are always ready. Like @earlthegoat2 said, with hog season always open, it’s year round preparedness. This year has totally sucked for hogs though. Way too much flooding. And we’re still flooded. So my guns are ready. No idea what I’ll hunt with this year. Have several new guns to try.
has the flooding killed them or just dispersed them,

Mine are ready to go. I try and get them to the range at least once a week. My go to rifle is a rem 700 sps in 7mm08, it does everything I ask of it, however I may take out my AR or m11 in 5.56 and 223 this year. View attachment 850498 View attachment 850499
i made a block off wood for the 10 round mags, works good and way cheaper them the 5 round mags let me know i can measure it if you want. id like to pop a deer with the ar or sks just to stick it to cuomo.

For me it is a little early to think about deer hunting and such. I am still in fishing mode. I will get to checking my hunting guns and crossbow in September. There are just to many good fishing days left. My hunting guns I`ll take to deer camp are White Gold Medallion BLR .308, CZ 550 full stock .308, Marlin JM 30 30 and CZ 527 7.62X39. I`ll check zero on these a a few more in late September or early October .
ya if i had more money id be doing more saltwater fishing, the freshwater fishing gets slow this time of year. how do you like you blr, id like one in 358win.

5 round block, works for 3rd gen pmags, this is my little prototype so there is tape holding peaces together. it's a basic rectangle but the bottom where it will sit into the base plat is thinned to .350. the height is 1.830 with is 1.00'' and the thickness is .525'' you may have to adjust to fit. there is just roo to slip this in without removing the base plate.

My wife's 260 and 30-30 have stayed ready. I'm still spinning my wheels on where I want to hunt this year, but my 357 Rossi is ready. My 240 is in the middle of a which bullet crisis. It shoots so well that I really want to use it, but I want to use my 35 Whelen also.

I like the BLR a lot. It is accurate, I shoot it well off hand, it handles well and it is fast with a follow up shot.
Fit and finish are great. I also like that the gun does not have a safety, just pull the hammer to half cock and rotate the top part of the hammer forward. The White Gold Medallion is a nice looking gun and I suspect some people would not want to hunt with it , but I do.

I'm going to do like the typical American hunter: wait until the weekend before deer season, go to a public range along with 5000 other wannabe outdoorsmen, fire 2 shots from the gun I haven't touched since last season from the same eight year old box of ammo, manage to hit somewhere on a 2'x2' target, and declare all is good.

Not. lol

We usually go out in September to sight in, then comes the clean up, drink, cook, drink socialize, drink well you get the idea, for the weekend. Im lucky that I hunt private property with my sil, 2 friends and the landowners neighbors son. I usually take a 30-06 or 2, a shotgun or 2, and a couple of muzzle loaders. This year I will also take a winchester 30-30 and a couple of 44 mag pistols to try out and see if I can hit anything

Have a new to me 1975 ruger no 1 in 7 mag I recently bought.

Have mounted a Leoupold vx 2 4x12 power scope. Only scope I have that has enough eye relief for this rifle and factory rings.

Shot one box of my old reloads to get on paper. Then took some shots off a barricade at steel at 130 yards. Its minute of mule deer with ease.

Now having to choose between this rifle or a Ruger Hawkeye in 7mm 08 that also hasnt been hunted with....or maybe the ar10

This year I have a Mule deer buck tag and will be hunting...just have no idea what rifles will go.

Take them all decide which to use in the am of hunt then alternate as season progresses.

Rifles are always ready but I have a slug gun with a rifled barrel and scope that I might hunt with some this year. It shoots good groups at 50 yards but I haven't tried it at 100 yds yet. Hunting on family land, usually shots over 50 don't present themselves.

how do you like that ravin, we only have about 15 days of xbow here, hard to justify the money for me.

The Ravin R29 is an amazing crossbow, looked around at all the brands and liked the engineering and features, surpassed what I thought the others had. More money than I wanted to spend, but no regrets. Looking at it being 10 year or better life expectancy, spread out over that time is easier to digest. Accuracy is jaw dropping.

ya there one of the nicest ones i have looked at, i just wish had the money lol.

All my long guns are ready for duty. I picked up a 1894CS in .357 that allows me to hunt with it in shotgun territory... that'll pretty much retire my shotgun for hunting deer.

I cleaned my muzzle loaders and shotguns since they are the first ones used. We will shoot them soon and make sure we can still hit with them, next I will do the same with the 30-06s. I usually clean them all and only shoot what I will hunt with.

It's always good to reaffirm that the hole runs all the way down the barrel still. Never can tell when one might heal closed with some disuse.
