Anyone have any pet loads for a Taurus PT140 Milleneum Pro? Picked one up this week - too good of a deal to pass up. Any way, just curious if anyone had anything that seemed to work well with theirs.

Yes, I know about the recall/safety "issues". I figured if it got to bothering me too much, I would send it in for repair or replacement. Just wanted a cheap truck/hiking gun that I don't care if it gets scratched.

Years back my brother had a Millenium Pro 45acp and that thing wouldn't hit the broad side of a barn at 10 feet. It was reliable as in it never jammed or anything, but no matter what factory load we tried and how many times we shot it, it wouldn't keep a magazine on a 8" target at 10 feet.

Take the sights off. I had a hard time with my PT145 grouping 6" low at 10 yards-no it was not me. I took the sights off, and it hits where I point it now. No, I haven't shot it at 50 yards, and I'm not going to, but at 7 -15 yards, it hits where I point it.

That Millenium Pro is long gone, inaccurate guns don't last long around me and my family. And IMO taking sights off a gun so it shoots where I point is a bandaid.

I personally won't own anything Taurus but a friend of mine has a few and my wife has a Taurus revolver and they all are accurate nd reliable, guess lemons do happen.

My reference 40S&W load is with 165 gr FMJ/JHP and 5.0 gr W231/HP-38 but 180 gr FMJ/TCFP/RNFP plated and 4.0-4.3 gr W231/HP-38 loaded around 1.130"-1.135" OAL produce lighter recoil target loads.

For greater accuracy, 180 gr FMJ/TCFP/RNFP plated and 6.1 gr BE-86/Herco loaded longer around 1.142" - 1.155" (Depending on bullet nose profile).

I have Mil Pro PT145 with SA/DA trigger I like which replaced Glock 30 due to grip size wife complained about (She loves the grip size of Sig 1911 and M&P45).

The accuracy issue is due to oversized barrel. After various factory ammunition and reloads, I addressed the accuracy issue by using softer 12 BHN MBC 200 gr SWC (Bullseye #1) and even with light charge of 4.0 gr Red Dot/Promo, bullet base expanded well enough to produce accuracy at 7-10 yards with light recoil that makes it pleasant to shoot even fast.

Yes I know about the lawsuit/recall but since it shoots so well now with 4.0 gr Promo load, I have hard time parting with it.

I may contact Taurus to replace with CA roster pistol like .357 Mag revolver.
