Please do bring us a range report.

Will do. It’ll likely be two weeks but I’ll get some pics and thoughts on the trigger, accuracy, etc... I’m excited about this thing so hopefully my expectations aren’t so high that I’ve set myself up for a letdown.

Picked mine up today. It also shoots very low - 3 or 4 inches at 5 yards. The cylinder is sometimes impossible to close, and when it does, often the release doesn’t pop back into position which then won’t allow you to pull the trigger. Additionally, the cylinder release is sometimes extremely hard to push. I’ll contact Charter and let them try to get it running.

Obviously disappointed, but I’ve had to ship back guns from pretty much every manufacturer so I won’t hold it against them yet.

Mine was about the same, 8 inches low at 7 yards. Had no issues with the cylinder or the cylinder release. Did it work as well as my Colt Detective Special? No, but it worked as well as my other two Charter Arms revolvers.

Maybe. The .32ACP is semi-rimmed. Depending on the ammo and the gun, there's sometimes enough of a rim to work ok without clips.

To shoot the 32acp out of a revolver do you need moon clips?
No, but shooting .32 ACP in a revolver isn't an ideal setup. Accuracy is poor... generally. I have a .32 Mag single action that shoot .32 ACP as well as .32 Long and H&R Magnums, but that is the aberration and not the norm. In the .327 SP I have, it's a disaster. Poor accuracy and the cylinder locked up on me because the thickness of the rim is not as thick as rimmed .32 revolver cases are, so upon firing the case slams back into the firing pin and the primer got impaled on the pin. Couldn't turn the cylinder, couldn't open the cylinder. I had to pry the case off the firing pin using my knife as a wedge.

After looking at LuckyGunners article I will ship trying out 32acp in my 327 revolvers. I reload so the cost to shoot isn't that bad. I need to pick up some more bullets.

Have had no issues trying the 32acp in various revolvers but it was only to see that they would work if the need arises. My favorite rounds in that caliber are the 32 long and the 32 H&R magnum.

Contacted Charter and they are mailing me a box with a label. The lady I spoke with was beyond nice, and assured me they would get everything fixed. I’ll update when I have more info.

Charter Arms has excellent CS .. My aluminum framed 38spl had a little resistance with closing tbe cylinder , not as bad as yours .. I guess I'd call it tight , stiff .. But it all worked out with a bit of range time ..
Im a Charter Arms guy . I really like their wide range of options... light weight .. and smaller frames ..
Wide variety of chambering
22lr ,22mag,380acp,32 H&R ,357mag,9mm,40S&W ,44spl,45acp,45Colt
41 Mag .. All on 3 frame sizes ,
Small (J frame size) Med (Colt D size)
& XL ( which is smaller than a K Frame)

On the Charter's being light weight, over the years I've had a revelation on the revolver and these was a time I thought that a revolver was better than a semi auto in a variety of aspects and thought that getting 8 rds of .357 in a Redhawk or N Frame size revolver was the best way to go. Then when I pick one up and shoot it or try to carry it, I find them way too heavy.

Now, I just got a 6 inch .357 Bulldog two weeks ago and the thing is as light as a feather, even with it being a 5 shot, it's infinitely more practical for any carry role vs a larger, heavier revolver like the 7 shot GP100 or 686+ or any of the 8 shot .357's out there.

To my knowledge, Charter has never made a revolver that weighs more than 25 ounces. Outside of the LCR, Ruger's have been called tanks and just about weigh as much. There's a time and a place for that when you're shooting big bore magnums, but for .357 and .32 and snubs that are all steel... I don't see the need.

So in the past few months my experience with Charter me believing they're now the 3rd best revolver maker in the US behind Ruger and Smith in what they offer, probably the best in terms of price and value.

My new Charter Arms Professional was shipped about two weeks ago. I included my warranty card and wrote a note about the $25 rebate they offer for buying one of their revolvers. Also a free T-shirt or logo cap.

Yesterday I received an email detailing the rebate and when the shirt will be shipped.

Great customer service for sure !!
