That should be a perfect critter whacked. The 6.5-20 should be perfect. I’ve got a couple of those in 4-14 and consider them most excellent

My 700 shot 50 grain Nosler BT’s over 38.0 of H380 into a very small one hole group. I was pretty upset when I shot my first group. Only hit the target with the first shot.

Then I walked up and looked close and could see it was an elongated hole

Do like the stock on that rifle, I do believe it is a Boyd's (nutmeg), in fact I've got one ordered for my Savage Axis II in 30-06 with the stainless steel barrel and action. Be sure and give us a range report once you get her dialed in.

Now that's a woodchuck rifle!!!! :D

Nice looking rifle. Wish I had the extra $ when you sent me the link.

Very nice grouping there Ks5, I haven't even had mine out since I got it. BTW I did get my Boyd's stock in the Heritage Nut Meg, and installed it after I got the trigger pull down to a consistent 2 3/4# release, now I've just dry fired it. The heat out here is unbearable in the triple digits, and just over a year ago I had congestive heart failure, needless to say I'm going to have to wait until that heat lacks off for a bit. I've mounted a Leopold 3X9 Rifleman on mine,. seems to a pretty decent scope for the money.
