I see them advertise some decent deals but the membership is around $200/year.

You sign up online but have to call to cancel. Which is odd. Do they have one receptionist and is just a way to keep you from canceling. I was thinking about it but it seems like a good possibility of a scam

I don't think that its a scam, but unless you buy a gun or two a month I wouldn't expect to save the $200 a year they charge. The call to cancel thing is, while not a scam, very underhanded though. There are other companies out there that do it and it is essentially a gimmick to make you stay subscribed longer due to being too busy to call or unable to get through to cancel in time.

NGOA keeps popping up near the top of my GunDeals search results. I have NO direct experience, but a Google search lead to numerous negative reviews of the operation, particularly about getting through to someone when calling to cancel.

Dahlonega (sp?) Pawn, GunBuyer.com, Midwest Guns, and others are almost always close in price, especially without the annual fee charged by NGOA.

On a side note, it is not unusual to find an individual firearm priced by a couple of sellers listed on GunDeals that is lower (at least short term) than my normal dealer cost from distributors.

I'm NOT joining any "club" to buy guns, and if I can't find what I want at
the price I want new, I'll buy a used one and be happy about it.
