First post so thanks to all that make this place happen.

I have a glock 40 mos and a 19. I would like to add a pistol caliber carbine. Idk if i should go 9mm or 10mm.

Looking to get a jrc or if i found a used kriss vector for a good deal that may be a option or pray and wait for a pc carbine in 10mm.

The main interest in 10mm is the range and power i have had with the mos with a red dot. And weather you agree if its not safe or whatever its a fact. glock 10mms can shoot 40 s&w all day long with no issues. Ive probably but as much 40 through my 10mm as 10mm. So that gives me another caliber option.

But 9mm is lighter and cheaper. Thanks to all

Welcome!:)

If you really like the Ten, get one.
If you want a PCC immediately, there are Nines all over. I haven't seen an AR in Ten, but that sounds very interesting. The longer length looks like an advantage in feeding, over other pistol cartridges.

I like the neat looking Vector, but man, the price tag. I would buy one if it was a good deal, no matter the caliber.:D

What are you looking to do with it? Ten is just more of a good thing. Huge round count may sway towards Nine...

And since more is more, two carbines wouldn't be a detriment. One in each?

Welcome to the forum!

The new crop of AR9s, especially the ones set up for Glock mags, have pretty much gotten the bugs that plagued them in the early years worked out. The buffers, bolts, springs and magazines are all playing nicely together now- not sure the same could be said of the few 10mm carbines that are out there.

On paper, the 10mm makes alot of ballistic sense, but I vote 9.

I like the looks of this setup:

I would like to see one in the flesh first, but oooohhhhh what a cool idea! I think I would go 45, ala grease gun, or 9mm, ala Carl Gustav......

I have both. 9mm carbine (Marlin camp9)and a 40 cal. (Ruger PC4) and I have to agree it is so much cheaper to shoot 9mm.

The 10mm is a beast and would easily produce significantly more energy than a 9mm from a carbine (or anything other platform).

However, the 9mm is more than sufficient for most PCC roles. If I were wanting a camp carbine in bear country, I wouldn't hesitate opting a PCC in 10mm between the two.
If I were wanting something for around the home, I would (and have) choose something in 9mm.

My CX4 Storm loaded with Remington 124gr +P bonded Golden Sabers and topped with a red dot makes a handy dandy home defense carbine. This is my go-to if a bump-in-the-night leads to my GSD going berserk.

If I ever found myself needing more than 30 rounds of 9mm +P JHP from a carbine in this particular role, it's probably due to a rampaging demogorgon (and a flamethrower would be the only useful weapon upgrade).

There's not much out there for 10mm carbines, unless you want to get some wacky upper from Mec Tech to put on a Glock or 1911. I'm sure Hi Point's 10mm carbine is good, but you're stuck with their magazines, so no mag sharing compatibility. If Hi Point made their 10mm able to use Glock and 1911 mags, the popularity and demand of them would shoot through the roof.

For now I agree with all others, get squared away with 9mm first as there are a lot more choices. If you want a 10mm, get it later, the power of it is phenomenal and worth having over a .45 if you reload 10mm. Don't worry about the carbine, there's absolutely no guarantee that Ruger or Glock or anybody else is ever going to come out with a 10mm carbine, let alone one that will take Glock or 1911 mags.

I have a pistol version in 45 acp. It is acurate and a very simple and interesting design. I love shooting it.
I have over 1500 rds through it and shoot it with mostly cast bullet reloads through it.

No problems so far.

9mm pcc's are a joy to shoot. I just picked up a extar pc9. All polymer, non recip side charger, bolt hold open and 419.00. Takes glock mags and has been 100% reliable through the first 300 rds of various fmj and cast bullets.
Supposedly there are 45 and 10mm versions in the works.

I have a mec tech 460 Rowland. It shoots mostly 45acp, but is extremely fun to shoot, accurate, and reliable. Could be lighter for sure though. You don’t want to go up against it on the pistol dualing tree for sure.

I’ve been tempted to get a 9mm too but haven’t done that. Even a highpoint would be a lot of fun.

If that were the case then I would want a water cannon that shoots ...........holy water
Dont think you can stop a demon with flamethrower?

Right now 9mm PCC’s are having “a moment.” Along with pure range fun and some home defense-anticipating use, they are extremely popular in competition at the moment. This means that lots of people are working on making them 100% reliable and on wringing the highest level of performance out of them, especially in the blowback-AR type and the Sig MPX. Achieving the 100% reliability part has not been easy.

Sadly, there is no competitive niche for 10mm carbines at the moment. So all that innovation happening in 9mm PCC isn’t happening with 10mm’s. As a big 10mm fan, I sure hope the attention eventually turns to 10mm PCC’s, as the cartridge seems such a great fit for that kind of gun. But I don’t know that it’s “there” yet.

I agree with everyone else has said about 9mm PCCs. I love my CX4!

I would like to get a 10mm someday but it's down on the list of priorities. I really don't have a need for one that isn't covered by the CX4 or my 1984 in 357.
