Useless firearms accessories

Apparently these things aren’t “useless” to everyone as they have been around a while. For that matter, just last weekend our future son-in-law was showing us the new Clipdraw he had installed on a little Glock of his.

However, the Clipdraw I bought for my j-frame Smith revolver is “useless” to me. I ordered it from Midway (I think), installed it on my j-frame, didn’t like it, took it off, and threw it in a desk drawer so that it would be with a couple of knives I never use.

There’s also a real pretty piece of wood in that drawer. I’ve probably had it for 30 years. I’ve always imagined myself making some handgun grips out of it, but I probably never will. So I guess that piece of wood could be considered a “useless” gun accessory as well.:D

I have a laser bore sighter I bought from Cabelas many years ago and have used it to get me on target every time I mount a scope now. I even use it to adjust the sights on my open sighted rifles. The 30-30 I used to kill a deer with this year was sighted with my laser to adjust the Williams 5D receiver sight I mounted on it. When tested it was shooting dead center. I never touched the sights after using the bore sighter. I put a bullet right behind the foreleg on my deer at around 65-70 yards. So learn to use them and they work.

I've had the same results with mine.

Some guys just don't like them, or would rather just sight down the tube. I always equate it with "walking in the snow, uphill, both ways to school" sort of thing.

The Boob Bib has got to be near the top of that list. o_O View attachment 851584

I've witnessed a lady take a hot piece or brass down the front of her shirt.
It may not quite so far up the list if you had cleavage to catch hot brass.

Of course appropriate outerwear for the task at hand would go a long way as well, rendering this, well useless. lol

And FWIW, I looked at this photo a lot longer than any of the rest of them in this thread. ;)

If I had cleavage to catch hot brass, I would cover it with a simple t shirt while shooting, rather than wearing baby accessories. Even if I was prepping for a class where I expected ladies with low cut tops to show up, I'd just pick up a few extra t shirts so they didn't have to look like an idiot in some sort of weird pre-school Halloween costume. ;)

That's a little sad man, at least find a pic of her where she's not wearing clothes meant for an infant.

You just aren't tacticool enough man.
You obviously can't grasp the tactical advantage that this gives a lady.
Suppose she's at the beach? She doesn't have a full sized shirt available. BAM. Put on the tactical kevlar baby bib and she's good to go.
It would be way cooler and more practical if it had a couple of mag pouches and a knife sheath built in.
It's too basic.

Internal locks on handguns or the locks that come in the case.

I have a cable lock that came with a Ruger keeping my 12ga ammo out of a toddler's hands. So not totally useless. Internal locks though, big yes.

Angled fore grips and hand stops are probably the most useless things (to me) I see on ARs. I would rather not have a grip at all than use either.

I agree that foregrips and hand stops are useless on full-length ARs. However, on SBRs, a hand stop helps keep your support hand from drifting too close to the muzzle.

Handstops also come in handy for shooting on/around barricades as often found in 3Gun matches. I use them for both reasons:

My Dad was a BAR man in WW2, and he said the instant you got one (in a combat zone), you took the carry handle and bipod off it and threw them away. Not worth the extra weight.
