I really want a Glock 43x, talk me out out of it!

I have never been a fan of the G26. It's just that I don't care for short stubby grips on a handgun. But when it comes right down to it personal preference will be the deciding factor for most people.

The 12 round magazine (Magpul pictured) extends the grip far enough for a good firing grip but not so far (IMO) to compromise concealability.

Just a little shorter than a 19

It's not hard to understand. The 43X and the 48 are both slimier and lighter then the G19. Some say that it's not much, but when it comes to carrying a gun concealed all day, every little bit counts.

Huge difference between carrying a G19 IWB and a G48 IWB. +1 Gunny

Thanks for the replies guys! Very insightful

To the p365 suggestions, I thought that was going to be my Goldilocks gun. It just doesn’t sit well in my hand to get on target without needing to regrip. And TBH I don’t trust I won’t get a lemon at this point in manufacturing.

The grip issue is also part of what I experienced with the original 43.

I shot a 43X at my qual shoot a couple of weeks ago and I liked it. I did the shoot with my Shield9 and scored 23 out of 25 and shot about the same with the 43X cold.

Sorry, couldn't resist

The bad JuJu is all over for the p365's now. You can read the myriad of threads on THR and elsewhere for more proof ...

From GlockTalk.com:
I have had my P365 for a couple of months now. After proven reliable with my carry ammo, it has replaced my Glock 43. What is scary to me is the group size at 15 yards is exactly the same with both of these small 9’s. Point of aim with the Sig is dead on. The Glock, with Heinie sights shoots at 6 O’clock. That they shoot the same group size, could it be my 72 year old eyes? LOL

I find that the shorter backstrap of the subcompacts makes them much harder for me to control, and so I prefer a grip length that reasonably fills the hand.

One more picture of "perfection".. 20190730_191532.jpg

Had to slice a different type of dingus off this perfectly installed dust cover..

At least they are easy to change out.

Of course, but the OP wanted to be talked out of it...

Just showing that Glocks require initial purchase price + price of replacing pathetic excuse for sights.

To be perfectly honest, I think what Glock does with the sights is actually a good idea.

The plastic sights are perfectly functional, and if you dont like them, you can put on whatever you like.

There are a lot of different sights available and at least you have a choice.

Whats really annoying to me these days, is buying a gun that I can't upgrade the sights on, and do so at a reasonable price.

I normally do put three dot night sights on mine, and do it myself. Total cost for the last couple of sets has been around $55 for a set of Meprolight green/green on Amazon.

I agree, and yes small differences matter a lot. The two guns I carry the most are a Shield and LCP, and that just boils down to whether I want to pocket carry or go IWB. I have bigger pistols but it's honestly pretty rare for me to carry one unless I am out in the boonies or camping or whatever.

My 43x at 10 yards. 5 shot group. Its shooting a little low.

What grain bullets? If 115gr. Try some 124’s and 147’s and see where they group.

115’s leave the muzzle quicker before much muzzle rise from recoil, hence they tend to shoot lower than heavier bullets. The heavier bullets 124’s and 147’s have a longer “dwell” time in the barrel allowing the recoil impulse to have a greater effect on the muzzle trajectory. It’s counter to what people think; that faster bullets should shoot higher but there’s more to pistol ballistics than velocity.

Mine shoots low too. I naturally hold at 6:00 but it seems to hit POA when I cover the target with the dot. Just ordered a Truglo front, hope it's lower than the stock front sight.

Both of mine shot low. I replaced the sights with a sight set for a G17 (in my case, XS Big Dot front with Heinie plain black rear milled out for a U notch), and now POA = POI.

The rear dovetail is the same dimensions as the bigger Glocks, only narrower side-to-side because of the slide width differences. If your preferred sights use a rear that doesn't completely fill the rear dovetail on the bigger Glock, chances are that it'll work just fine in the baby Glocks.

I would shoot the Mossberg Mc1 against the Glock. Personally I really liked the Mossberg much better. And they are very similar. I do not like Glock Trigger guards at all. In fact I showed the blister of my finger after shooting the 43. IMO the Mossberg had less recoil and was a smoother shooter. I have three Micro 9mm at very happy with what I have. But, if I decide to get another it will be the Mossberg. You should, if you get a chance at least shoot one and see what feel better to you. As the OP said, the 365 and the 43x just did not suite me. Nothing against the guns, they are great. Just not the perfect.

They are 115 grain Speer rounds. I'm not too worried about it. It shoots my 124+ P Gold Dots to POA.

I just sighted in the new sights and have to admit...I really am starting to like the 48.

I've fired one but did not see the point over the 43.

I can make my 43 bigger by adding Taran +2 or Magguts +2. These extensions have been utterly reliable for me and I have the luxury of carrying with standard 6 round magazine for ultimate concealment.

Oh, and I don't like front cocking serrations. I pinch the rear sight for chamber checks.
