Im thinking of trying some of their 9mm plated bullets. Any experiences, favorite recipes etc?

I have shot 10's of thousands of xTreme and Berry's plated bullets in various calibers. They are great.
One note, they are not recommended to exceed 1250 fps.
Lots of different powders out there, CFE Pistol, Silhouette, Power Pistol and others.
Work up a load that cycles your gun reliably.

But their Heavy Plate/Hollow Point plated bullets have thicker plating and are rated to 1500 fps - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...ng-at-25-50-yards.808446/page-3#post-10470195

But due to higher cost, I prefer to use RMR jacketed bullets without velocity limitations for carbine loads instead at lower cost for quantity purchase (Especially with 5% THR discount).

I think their regular plated 9mm RN bullets are on par with Berry's regular plated bullets but Berry's bullets are sized larger (.356" vs .355") so Berry's tend to produce slightly greater accuracy for me - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...re-sized-the-same.818806/page-2#post-10567453

My current loads with 9mm plated bullets are:
  • 115 gr RN 4.8 gr W231/HP-38 at 1.130" - Reference load
  • 115 gr RN 4.0-4.2 gr Red Dot/Promo at 1.110"-1.125" - General purpose range practice/training load
  • 124 gr RN 4.3 gr W231/HP-38 at 1.135" - Reference load
  • 124 gr RN 3.8-4.0 gr Red Dot/Promo at 1.125-1.130" - General purpose range practice/training load
For greater accuracy loads, here's Berry's 124 gr RN with 4.0 gr Titegroup loaded to 1.160":

I like their 124 gr "HP" for a plinker load at 1050ish from a 5"barrel. it's not the only 124/5 Gr bullet that works well for this, but it is one of them.

I have shot a decent number of their 9mm 124's and 135's, and liked them. I have also shot a pretty large number of their .40-cal 180's and even more of their 220's. And decent numbers of a bunch of their other offerings. Including after their bankruptcy. They're my default for most recreational pistol shooting. I like them a lot.

With the RMR 124 JHP's so reasonable, I'm currently using those for my gamer loads in 9mm, though.

I've shot probably 20K of their plated 9mm 124 RN. Can you still get them? Like others, I'm wary of ordering since their bankruptcy.

As have I, ever since they were Western NV West Coast Bullet

Yes, you can still get them. Ship time is good and the quality is the same as it was.
I like their 158gr plated SWCs for .357mag. I also have their Double end WC plated bullets for .357.
I haven't bought any from them for a while, but the last ones were after their announcement.
There were no problems. Quick shipping, good packaging.
I'm using RMR now for 9mm, MPR in 124 gr for practice. Those shoot really well for me.

Have used their 115gr and 124gr RN bullets for 9mm, 100gr FP for my 380 and 200gr RN for 45acp. Powders have ranged from AA#2 & 5, HP-38 and Ramshot Silhouette.

I have shot thousands of them good bullets But I quit buying them after they quit having free shipping and all the sales that they had switched to

Like Luckydawg, I have shot thousands of Xtreme plated bullets, mostly 124gr HP and 230gr RN. When they upped their shipping cost and cut back on sales, I looked around and found Everglades 124gr JHPs cheaper in bulk than Xtreme plated HPs. I also recently bought some Everglades 230gr plated RNs cheaper than the equivalent Xtremes, but haven’t loaded any, yet.

But, to answer your question, in my experience, Xtreme plated bullets are very good quality, as good as or better than some other popular brands. I won’t publish recipes, but I did use jacketed data with their plated bullets, starting low and working up after establishing max COL for the particular bullet in my shortest chambered pistol.

The good news is we have a lot of good choices these days and they have to compete for our dollars.
That is so correct. It use to be Berry's was a good deal, to me. But I can usually buy quality jacketed for the same price, or sometimes better. Especially for the 9s.

Yes, trip down memory lane ... used to buy West Coast bullets at gun shows.

Great bullets for plinking.
Over the years, even despite the Chapter 11 bankruptcy, I have stocked up on X-Treme bullets when they ran really good sales, particularly with free shipping. Their sizing is same as jacketed (.355", .400", .451") and leak more gas than larger sized Berry's or RMR in-house jacketed but plenty good enough for reloading general purpose/range practice/plinking loads.

They are good stuff if loading 38 special, 9mm, 45 acp, or anything under 1250 fps.

I would not choose them for 10mm or anything where velocity is what makes the cartridge shine.

FWIW, X-treme says their heavy plated concave base (HPCB) and plated hollow points (HP) in 10mm/40 (and other calibers) are good up to 1500 fps.

Or if you're running 220's in 10mm (which Xtreme makes, but not any other plated maker I'm aware of), you're not likely to be pushing them past 1250 even with full-throttle stuff.
