Have you purchased anything gun related in the last three days?

I just ordered some 3-inch wide electrical tape and 3/8-inch latex tubing. I'm going to fill the hogged out stock forend when I bed the action of my Model 7 .243 Ackley and two layers of the tape will keep the barrel floated. The latex tubing is to hold the barreled action in the stock while the bedding sets up; learned that trick from a custom gun builder.

Ca implemented background checks for ammo purchases while I was out of State on vacation. To give this new (useless) system a try I bought ammo at three different retailers over the past two days; 3,500 .22 LR, 200 7.62x39 and 100 .223.

This new procedure won’t affect crime or crooks in the least, it’s just to make it more of a hassle for law abiding people to exercise their 2nd rights so they get frustrated and quit owning guns.

I won’t stop buying ammo, especially unreloadable rimfire, when I find it at a price I like. With this States anti-gun government, I am seriously expecting to be getting a call or letter from our State DOJ at some point because I’m buying “too much” ammo.

Stay safe.

Hi...
Went on a little gun shop tour today with my son.
We live in Southcentral Pennsylvania and do this every couple of weeks or so.
We stopped at a LGS to browse the used rifle rack... didn't see anything we needed. My son bought a pound of 8028 rifle powder and some .223 rifle bullets.
Then we made the trek across eastern Pennsylvania to King of Prussia and visited Kings Shooter's Supply. Never been there before...nice shop, lots of interesting stuff in a relatively small shop.
I bought a box of 500 bullets in .45Colt...255 gr LSWC that they cast themselves. Pretty nice looking bullets....when I got home we loaded up 265 cartridges with this bullet to see how they perform.
While we were there, one if the staff gifted us a sample bag of 30 powder coated bullets in 10mm for us to try. This is the first powder coated bullets we have tried, so my son loaded them up over 10 gr of Power Pistol to see if he likes them.

They tell us the bullets are hard cast at 21 Brinnel...never shot any cast bullets quite that hard, so we will see what happens. They did say that they use the same hardness for all of their cast bullets.

I posted about a little Browning Buck Mark Camper project I started:

Well it's done and I took it to the range for the first time yesterday.

I got 31/2" groups at 50 yards from a bench using the red dot with CCI Copper Plated Round Nose 1200 FPS .22 Long Rifle ammo.
I will not talk about the group sizes I got with the open sights however they were better than they would have been with the stock opens. :D The red dot on the front sight is a huge help.

Here's the finished product:

I recently bought a new pistol. I've run about 400 rounds through it. It's a keeper so I just ordered 4 additional spare mags and a pack of recoil springs. Next week or the week after I'll place an order for a holster designed for this pistol.

I ordered a RifleBasix trigger to replace a Savage accu-trigger that has problems. I'm not a fan of the accu-trigger anyway. There is just something about the blade in the middle that annoys me.

Pair of Grov Tec QD sling swivels and bases, and a Magpul RLS sling, three 15rd Black Dog .22lr mags for my CMMG adapter.

And - snap! - just like that, I'm broke again...
