I am in the business of revamping my primer supply lately. LR and LP l stock the standard fare and in proportions to reflect usage. I do tend to use more LPM in place of LP in revolvers though. For SP and SR l do it a bit differently. A smaller amount of SPP for use in striker fired. The balance l buy SRM primers and have worked up loads accordingly. Most of my handguns will set a SRM primer off without problems and 223 ammo has experienced no slamfires in either my Mini 14's or my AR's in conservatively 175K rounds. I even use them in my 22Hornet loads. I am not particular on the brand l use as l admit l am no benchrest shooter by any stretch of the imagination. Also changing brands/lots does not make appreciable differences on target at ranges l shoot. Anyone else do this? No, my loads are not all at max or in the nuclear range either. YMMV
EtA This stood me well through the last shortage. Most were not buying so many magnum primers it seems and they were mostly available when l needed some.
