I have a 390 -- the receiver is marked "Made in USA" and the barrel "Made in Italy." I wonder if the A300 is the same.

You forgot to mention the many English brands that command very big
bucks to buy.

Henry single shot break open shotguns are made in the USA, and I think the Fox SxS was returned to production a few years back ($$$)
Several Stoeger models are/were from Brazil.
Squires-Bingham (now Armscore?) are from the Philippines.

What about CSMC the price of their flagship model, the A10,
would buy a dozen or so Mossberg's..

The price of the A-10 would buy several dozen Mossbergs - and deciedly so. And I would take the A10 over any Mossberg

The Weatherby version gets very good reviews, eve if it is made in Turkey

The Baikal MP153/155 or the Remington import Spartan 453 are very reliable. They're modelled after the Rem 1100 and you just switch gas pistons for Hi vs Lo pressure shells, no O-ring. I think they're chrome lined bores as well. I'm not sure if you Americans can still get these given the import ban of Russian firearms.

For something more refined in the mid-range, get an older Winchester SX3.

If you want a more refined Winchester, get the SX-1 - that was their best version
