All depends on what your gun likes.

I had a S&W SW9VE that HATED 115gr of any brand.

I couldn't hit the broad side of the barn from the inside.

124 gr. worked perfectly.

Never tried 147gr.

Traded that one away.

My current nines can shoot anything.

I never tried 147 gr bullets. Never saw a reason. Is there one?

The latest FBI tests led them to determine that a 147 gr load at about 1000 fps was the best choice for their agents to carry. That is what they have issued for the last few years. Early 147 gr HP loads often did not expand, but that problem was corrected long ago.

The 147 gr hardcast loads made by Buffalo Bore and several others have proven to penetrate 5-6 FEET and have shown they will bring down Alaskan Brown bear.

I don't hand load for 9mm and as long as I can get 115 gr FMJ for under $8 it isn't worth my time to load them. I've always carried 124 gr loads that ran 1250-1300 fps in the past and felt well armed. But I'm moving toward the 147 gr FBI load. It has shown to penetrate deeper and still expand. I also have some Buffalo bore 147 gr hardcast that I carry when in the woods.

Seems like you find accurate loads more easily with the 124/125, especially in the light to medium loads.

I have pretty much always shot 124 gr RN bullets. I "may" need to get some more. I was thinking of 115gr.(still have a bunch of 124)
What weight do most folks shoot?

This is not a Brand question, nor a cast vs plated,FMJ issue. I use both FMJ and Coated (precision Delta and MBC) I would order some RMR but am waiting to see what the BIG News will be.:)

115gr or 124gr??

BDS makes it sound way bigger than it is. A very well known match ammo MFG is going to use our bullets for production of their match ammo. Our name won't be on the box or anything but we will be allowed to tell people that it's our bullets.

You have done well grasshopper. You started from nothing during the crazy years and worked (Hard) to turn nothing into something over time, you should be proud, and I hope it continues to be successful for many years.

Excellent!! Just don't forget us little people:):D

Yeah but I bet many THR members and match shooters from other forums will be surprised to hear "which" manufacturer of match ammunition.

I split the difference and shoot 120gr that I cast myself.
So it's not something that I have to worry about.

Welcome to THR Roger Schendel.

By the time you add the weight of the lube (around few grains), it would be fairly close to 124 gr ;)

I have reloaded both. But from now on I think I'm going to stick with the 124grs. They use a tad less powder than the 115gr bullets and are moving just a little slower.

But honestly, I would probably buy whatever is cheaper, I can make either work

Right now I plink with 115 gr because they are a little cheaper. Slightly off topic here but what was the original military load a 124 or 115? Im pretty sure nato rounds nowadays are 124's.

124s for me. RMR multi purpose round and Acme 124 RN w/hi tek coating. I use 231 for the RMRs and titegroup for the Acme.

For a long time I ran 147 grain in coated or plated w/3.1gr of titegroup. It ran in everything but the 124s are more accurate for me.

What is your standard load for the 124gr Acme coated RN? With Titegroup?

By the way, how's that EAA Windacator I sold you been treating you? Still accurate? I finally got the 4" barrel version, but still haven't had the chance to shoot it...

On your suggestion I bought a box of 125gr rnfp coated ACME bullets in 38/357. I loaded them all up with 3.5grs of Titegroup, I haven't shot them yet, but I am looking forward to.

So the ACME 124gr 9mm RN bullets cycle ok? How accurate are they?
