Want to see how MBC makes bullets??

I see how they cast and size them in the first one, does one of the other half dozen links have their coating process?

With 17 casting machines, all set to different calibers, Missouri Bullet Co. now has the largest infrastructure for cast bullets in the world, and is the leader in rare and obsolete bullet designs.
Nice! MBC, the original THR home grown bullet company.

And after all these years, Brad is still offering the 5% THR discount. Thanks Brad and Jo Ann!

I like that, they have helped so many of us over the years also and continue to do so.
We are so lucky to have all these companies to choose from and I so enjoy seeing the families that run the companies that make it happen for us.
It's really a good time to be a reloader/handloader right now. We have more options now than we have ever had.

Jmorris, No, the other links don't show anything on how they coat their bullets. I looked at them all. May be a trade secret.

I imagine so, David Long (Precision bullets) had the first “coated” cast bullets that I know of (not moly powder but something that worked with non jacketed bullets) has since gone to swaged but he was alway tight lipped on the coating and application.

Donnie (Bayou bullets) was the first one to sell the Hi-tek coating to others for use.

Application has always been the “key”. Plated bullet folks are even more tight lipped, so to speak.

They also began offering coated bullets three years ago, with coated bullets now comprising more than 50 percent of their sales.“If we had not gone to coating, we’d be out of business,” she said. The Hi-Tek coated bullets are not lubricated, can be used in indoor ranges where lead bullets are not allowed, there is no smoke and the bullets are harder, Jo Ann said. They enclosed a part of the concrete picnic area to accommodate the coating process and bought four large industrial ovens. The coating is mixed in cement mixers. They have a .300 blackout bullet that is coated in black and a 7.65 Russian

I am lucky enough to live about 10 miles away from them.....I don't shoot much of their stuff but do love their 45-70 offerings....super nice people and they gave me the nickel tour.

When I can finally get behind a gun again I think I will be shooting more of their stuff.....not going to be pushing fps numbers that high anymore.

Hey, thanks for posting about MBC.
A while back I bought a quanity of 9MM 147 grain bullets at
a estate sale with no box. They shoot great out of my GP100.
Now I know where to get more of them.

I love their coated bullets. I think their quality is as good as any and better than most. The 180gr Pugnose is a real hog stopper out of a .357

Thanks. I've used their products and should make another order. One of those bullets did a number on my Chrony.

You sound like the media.....the bullet did a number on it.....And for the record...I smoked one as well.

Got on this kick of wanting to see the FPS drops from close to the muzzle to close to the target.....well got a soft loaded 22 and I punched its ticket dead center of the LCD. Decided I was not going to do that kind of testing on stuff I don't load for....at least it was a cheap chrono.

I have used their bullets for many years, but so far have not had any "Life Changing Event" due to them:D

During the post-Sandy Hook "panic", Brad was very helpful to many here to get us the bullets we needed when many places had "no back-orders" on their web sites. MBC was a "life changing event" to me. :D

They must be sitting on a lead mine lol. Thats a lotta bullets!

Even though they are close to Doe Run that was only a smelter.
All lead comes from recycled lead a lot of it from batteries recycled in you know where CHINA!

I remember the early days when Brad was battling the USPS, who didn't want his business. Now they schedule pickups by the semi load. And when, during the big panic, when they went to the SHOT show to buy some new casting machines. And with enough Benjamins to ensure their place in line. Nothing like cash to seal a deal, and Brad really had a briefcase full. A great businessman. My concern is what will happen to the business when they do retire.
