I know it’s not a side gate loader, but my Henry .357 Big Boy has digested every .38 Special I’ve ever thrown at it; from 110 gr TCFP to 200 gr LRN. It won’t, however run .38 Special wadcutters, or anything shorter than .38 Special reliably. Since Henry has started adding side gates to their 30-30 and 38-55, maybe it won’t be long until they add them to their pistol caliber carbines.

I had an old braztech 92 that I could tune to feed either 38s or 357s, but not both. My personal Marlin 1894 will run 357s as long as they're not wadcutters or swc. It kind of chokes on 38s. The Navy lightning will fun both. The original lightning struggles with both. The Browning 92 seems to run both fine.

How about a cattleman carbine? Loads from the side, never has feeding problems. Nobody else will have one :)
