Favorite current-production metal framed 9mm?

I've owned a lot of 9mm's over the years, wish I still had the BHP I traded for a 1911.
I'm now down to three, a Kahr P9 which doesn't count in this post but of all the different models I've tried out my CZ 85 Combat is the most accurate and comfortable to shoot. Liked it so much I bought a PCR to go with it. Both have proven to be 100% reliable and accurate.
They both seem to fit my hand just right.

Problem is a 1911 in punybellum is blasphemy.
Each time you pull the trigger JMB rolls in his grave and wonders why you aren't shooting his marvelous 38 Super. :uhoh:

The gun I always come back to is the CZ 75 series. They have always been a favorite of mine. One of my first handgun purchases was a TZ 75 because the CZ was not being imported at the time.

The Beretta 92/96 is also high on the list.

I’m tired of polymer. What’s your favorite current production all metal 9mm? I’m not a Sig P series fan, but there is the Beretta (Taurus), Kahr, a 1911, maybe a CZ....what else am I missing?
All STEEL? CZ-75B. All metal, the alloy frame CZ-75 PCR, best hammer fired compact CCW pistol ever made, IMHO.

Let's see

Jericho 941 - like the smoothness of the action, the weight of the steel, and it's accuracy BUT disliked the finish and the heavy DA trigger pull
CZ P01 - like its lightweight but performs like a full sized pistol and also accurate BUT dislike the curved trigger and if you have big hands, the slide is a little bit funny when you rack it
CZ Sp-01 tactical - eats recoil and shoots flat and accurate BUT dislike the curved trigger and the slide concern I have with the P01
Beretta 92X full size and centurion models - very ideal pistols (the decocker only versions), smooth racking slide and plenty of real estate for big hands, and the way the barrel retains its "being straight" while shooting it BUT still wary of the locking lugs (although it is now on its 3rd gen) and some trigger springs if you are not much of a maitenance guy
STI and SVI guns - excellent 1911 based pistols, there is nothing more I can ask BUT they are expensive
Dan Wesson 1911s - they are probably for me the best production 1911 pistols. they have the best materials, fitting, finish, etc. BUT also expensive
Arex Rex pistols - what can I say? for their price and performance they are to grab for

Yeah, you are probably right but the fact remains that Ol' John is long gone and probably worn down to less than the size of lead pencil from all the rolling he's had to do in the years since 9mm 1911's became kind of popular. I have say, with apologies to John, that my stainless PT 1911 is one of the nicest shooting nines I have managed to get my hands on. Throw on one of those ebay steel muzzle brakes and the thing is a pussycat in the recoil department. I find with the added weight hanging out on the end of the barrel it hangs nicely on the target too and I need all the help in that department that I can get.

So not even the Brigadier slides ameliorate your concerns about the locking lugs?

He may still feel the same about a Beretta with a Brigadier slide, but for clarity, the 92X models don't have the Brigadier slide.

I recently added a CZ 75B to my collection and it has quickly become my favorite!
I have tried some 1911s over the years, but I just can't seem to warm up to them.

While I really enjoy shooting my 9's primarily because of the cheap ammo and low recoil for serious usage I'll pick a 1911 platform in 38 Super over the 9.
124gr bullet @ 1150 for the 9 compared to 1350 for the Super, American design measured in inches as opposed to sillymeters, what's not to like.:scrutiny:
Kinda like the difference between the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers.
