Interested in a discussion of CCW choices from forum members.
My personnel choices are:
1. Hot summer T-shirt and shorts attire, Kahr P9, Colt agent 38 special.
2. Comfortable temperatures, loose clothing, DW Bobtail Valor in .45ACP., DW Guardian in 38 super, Cz. Pcr in 9mm.
3. Cold whether, full size 1911 in either .45ACP or 10mm.
4. In the woods where toothy critters reside, .45Colt Mountain Gun
Themes my choices, what are yours? ;)

Currently an XDs45 is my EDC.
I also have a PF9 for when I need something really small.

That said, I’m thinking of getting a M&P 2.0 9 compact as I’d like more ammo on had.

I carry a S&W 360 PD 357 almost anywhere. Usually reduced loads. Might change the ammo for toothy critters.
Occasionally a Colt Mustang 380 in town.

I carry an XD-S .40, in an AlienGear ShapeShift. Either IWB or AIWB, depending on the activity. Summer, performance poly undershirt, t-shirt or light button cover. Cooler weather, opt for a heavier button cover.

All we have are Hot Summer Days, about 10-11 months of the year. If I decide to conceal then it is usually one of my 32acps, 380 or small revolvers in a pocket. In most of my shorts I can even conceal one of my Colt 1903s if needed but more often it has been my Walther Model 4 or Beretta 1935. Today though it was my new surplus Beretta 81 that was part of the ones from the Italian Prison System. Gave my old 81 to a friend who has really wanted it for ages.

Usually it's a Glock 29 and a spare magazine. Hot weather, cold weather, whatever. When I first started carrying it was a Browning Hi Power. I figured if things went wrong I'd really hate for that pistol to end up in an evidence locker.

I'll follow the OPs theme.

1. Hot summer T-shirt and shorts attire, M and P bodyguard .38
2. Comfortable temperatures, loose clothing, M and P Smith compact 2.0
3. Cold weather, some sort of big bore revolver
4. In the woods where toothy critters reside, some sort of big bore revolver.

It’s hot 11 months of the year on the gulf coast. Usual casual attire is flip flops and a 38 in the front strong side pocket. For those times it does cool down enough to warrant layering garments then I step it up to a 9mm for the extra “oomph,” usually a G19 OWB. In the woods it’s a revolver, starting with a “4.” I like to keep things simple.

S&W 642 year round in an IWB holster. If I’m in the woods where we have a lot of coyotes, marijuana grows and heroine addicts it’s a M&P 9 full-size with extra mag.

Forgot to add the question of what holster do you prefer for a given situation.
My favorite is a Milt Sparks summer special IWB.

In the winter I'm always wearing a sweat shirt and if outside a coat so I carry my G23. Summer is a T-shirt and shorts so I carry my G48. Both IWB 3 o'clock. By My Side leather holster made locally here in MI.

I have two favorites:
The lcp has been my most carried ccw. It carries so easily that I rarely am without it. My holster is a Desantis SofTuck (highly recommended). My lcp shown here with Mrs' lcp in a sticky pocket holster. 20190521_213717.jpg my other favorite is an officer sized. .45acp 1911 in custom kydex.

  1. When I'm not going to need to disarm frequently - Citadel 3 1/2" M1911 in a King Tuck.
  2. When I'm going to have to disarm - S&W Model 36 in a home made pocket holster.

Given my work hours, a mass shooting isn't much of a concern. A mass shooting requires a "mass" to shoot. When I'm on my way home, a mass shooter would have to do more hunting than shooting.

The two guns I carry the most are an LCP and a Shield. I like both of them and shoot them both pretty well. The Shield is a better pistol in a better caliber (9mm in my case), but I carry the LCP more because it's just more comfortable and I really like pocket carry because it's so discrete and secure.

Skimpy or tight clothing, LCP .380 in pocket.
Around my house, some uncleared areas, M60 .357, revo owb.
Normal EDC, Shield 9 IWB
Woods-wilderness, 629 5" .44

I go through two phases every once in a while, SAO or Glock. When in a phase I shoot that style exclusively to keep muscle memory current (I shoot weekly).

So, if I'm in a SAO phase it's a Sig 226 SAO when it's not super hot and a DW Valkyrie CCO when it's hot. Dress stays mostly the same but the weight is more oppressive when it gets over 80 degrees.

If I'm in a Glocky mood it's a 19x almost all the time and very rarely a 26. I recently got a Gen 5 19 that will likely take over as all the time if it shoots as well as I expect.

I'll stick with the OP's format:
1. Hot summer T-shirt and shorts attire: Either S&W Shield on my hip or my LCR in my pocket.
2. Comfortable temperatures, loose clothing: S&W Shield on my hip.
3. Cold whether: S&W Shield on my hip (are you sensing a theme here?), although on occasion, I'll switch it up with a G19 or full size 1911 in .45ACP.
4. In the woods where toothy critters reside: I don't go there very often, but I'd probably carry either my G19 or 1911 for a handgun. There's an even stronger possibility that I'd also take a long gun with me.

Hot summer days, shorts and T-shirt, P224 in .40S&W.

More clothes means a bigger gun. Currently that is likely a Sig 1911.

- p32 pocket carry in hot weather with shorts or sweatpants
- p365 in IWB or pocket on most occasions when I need to 'look right'
- p229 RX OWB on most occasions when I can be casual
- Mk 25 for outdoors / field

S&W mod 10 sq butt K-frame goes everywhere with me, if I need to be less conspicuous I go with an LC9s. These two cover 99% of my CCW. The other 1% is a NAA in .22 WMR.

My usual carry is a M&P 2.0 40 compact. If I want something easier to hide I carry a Kahr CM9. Every once in a blue moon if I want to feel like I am concealing something dressy ;) I carry my SR 1911 but I think it is better to carry things that have the same or very similar manuals of arms.
