Would getting a Glock 26 be redundant if I own a Glock 19?

I had a Glock 23 and a 27. Frankly the difference wasn’t enough to justify both, especially with the rise of the pocketable micro-9’s. I sold the 27 because it just didn’t seem to fill any unique niche that couldn’t be covered better by something slightly larger or slightly smaller.

So I tried a 43 and 43X at the LGS and my hand was too big for the 43, but the 43X was a perfect fit. Is the 43X a good choice? I’ve heard mixed reviews on it, so I’m hesitant to get it. I feel like my hands are too big for many textbook EDC guns like the 26, 43, etc.

Yes, the 43x and 48 are a tiny bit wider in the grip over the 43 and it makes a good deal of difference for my larger than average hands. I really like the 48 as an option, but if I'm only wanting around 10 rounds in that size I have a lightweight 1911 I prefer.

Isn’t the 48 similar in size to the 19? Or am I thinking of the 45?

Just a little longer barrel, grip is the same size.

The Gen3 G26 I bought over 10 years ago was used, and I paid $275.
It has been faultless, and does anything I want a CCW 9mm to do.
Indeed, it does just about anything I need a 9mm to do, period.

I held a G43X at the LGS and had two concerns:

1) Even though it fit my hand better than the G43, I’m wondering if the size is too similar to the G19 to consider purchasing it

2) I’ve heard the slide on the G43X can be gritty. It is also newer, so it doesn’t have an established reputation like the G26

If you get the 26, dump the 19, and get a 17 (or 45)

The 17/26 combo does everything the 19 does, but better. My 19 just sat in the safe once I got that combo.

I don’t know why it would be redundant. I think a G26 compliments a G19. Just like it compliments a G17 or G34.

If you like your G19, I bet you will like a G26. It’s a perfect example of a gun that feels weird and shoots great.
