A double rifle that a regular guy can afford (under $2000?).

A semi auto carbine in 454 casull..

You can probably find a Valmet for less than $2000, but it doesn't look like a Hollands.

Well there was the outfit converting M1 carbines to .45 Win Mag, which has the advantage of being rimless.

Question: what guns do you WISH they made?

It could be any platform and any caliber, but within the realm of reality (no plasma rifles in the 40 watt range)...

I'll go first...

1. I really wish they made an inexpensive S&W Schofield clone in .22lr/.22mag. It could be scaled down even. Basically think Heritage Rough Rider but a Schofield. It'd have a working ejector like the real deal when you pivoted it open. It'd be like a sub $200 gun. I know there is that H&R 999 sportsman handgun with the triangle barrel, which is really awesome, but I'd love an actual single action Schofield! Heck, it'd be awesome if they made a full size version in .357 mag...

2. While we're on the subject of break open revolvers (I'm obsessed with top break revolvers). It'd be awesome if someone made like a Webley Mk VI clone in .357 mag. Or it'd be REALLY cool if Ruger made a top break stainless GP100 with a 4" barrel, that'd be the ultimate revolver! I know break top revolvers aren't as strong as bill framed guns are, but I've got think with today's metallurgy and materials, I'm sure they could make a break top revolver in magnum calibers. They already make a schofield replica chambered 45 colt.

3. Speaking of Ruger revolvers, they should make a 6 round version of the SP101

4. Also, Ruger should make a lever action rifle. Maybe chambered in .357mag, (9mm would be cool too, if you could find flat point ammo) 44mag, 45 Colt, 30-30, and 45-70 gov't. It'd be stainless with an 18" barrel, side loading gate, slightly enlarged lever.

5. I would love it, and it would be so cool, if Kriss/Vector would make a rifle chambered in 308 that takes AR-10 mags. Put that recoil reducing/camming bolt system to good use. Start with 308, maybe to go a 6.5 Creed in the future. It'd be cool if they made one in 556/223 that took AR mags too.

6. More handgun options in 5.7, perhaps a Glock, M&P, and 1911 versions. Maybe some other rifles chambered in it.

7. More 10mm handguns and pistol caliber carbines. I know that hi point and Kriss each have a carbine in 10mm, I'm sure there are others too. But it be cool if they came out with a lever gun in 10mm. Ruger should come out with a 10mm semi auto other than a 1911.

9. These aren't guns, but a couple of wildcat cartridges I've thought of: a 10mm necked down 9mm, basically a 357 Sig with longer brass and thus more case capacity. What about 45acp necked down to 9 or 40? A revolver/lever action caliber to bridge the gap between 357 and 44-40 perhaps?

10. I don't know if they already make these, but either a 1911 with a polymer "lower", or a striker fired 1911. And maybe with that new "half stack" idea of Sigs to bring the capacity to 10-13. That would be awesome!

Let me know what you think of my list, some of it may actually already exist. And before anyone asks, "why would they bother making X?", because this is America, and we can!

I'm really curious to hear what's on your guys' lists!!! Let's hear your ideas!

Wish granted #1: NAA makes the ranger in a schofield top break. So did H&R.

#3 again the sp101 came in a 6 shot .22lr

#10 Ruger makes the SR1911 polymer framed in 9mm .40cal and 45 ACP

I’m sure there’s more but I have been up 36 hours running on caffeine so I’ll let wiser people than me take over.

An accurate, single-shot hunting rifle with a short receiver, a carefree finish option (like SS and not blued), and with stock options that fit a variety of shooters, positions and sights/optics -- no one-size and shape fits all.

Valmet isnt what i had in mind, should have said SxS double.
45 win mag is decent, but not quite a 454. Im thinking along the lines of the ruger model 44. Heck, even bring back the model 44.

I wish somebody would make a .357 Mag lever gun with a side loading gate that didn't cost more than my AR. Rossi doesn't count because they are almost never in stock anywhere and looking at their website apparently the don't even make the R92 in .357 anymore?

I have a couple.

1. A Glock in .22LR perhaps the same size as the Glock 48.

2. I’d like a Smith & Wesson model 27, 8 shot revolver with a 4” or 5” barrel or a model 327 like the TRR8 in steel but without the accessory rail attachments.

3. I was going to say I wished Sig Sauer would bring back the P232. I have wanted one for years. But I decided not to wish that. I don’t want to fool with a company that doesn’t have enough consideration for its customers to communicate what they are doing in regards to products and customer service. They don’t need my money. I can think of a couple of other companies like that They don’t need my money either.

Mine is which came first...The gun or the cartridge?

In this case I would like to see the 41 Special become a commercially loaded cartridge to be used in L-Frame and Ruger GP-100. While it can be used in a N-Frame I think the N-Frame is too large and heavy of gun,

I like that idea, but it has to be a 6-shot, not like the Model 69. And the other thing is I want 41 Special brass to have small pistol primers. They work fine for .40 S&W and .357 Magnum. A 41 Special doesn't need a large primer.

A revolver with a top-strap machined for a reflex sight (no thick mount plate). You look at the C-More's and the other red dots in competition and they're awkward and funky and high on some big platform, rail or a side-stand. The revolver's top-strap is much thicker than an autoloader's slide, and factory-cut slides for carry-optics are popular now. Revolvers are even better for reflex sights since they don't reciprocate, but right now they're just blob-ons. What may be an even better idea is an integrated dot sight -- battery in the grip (ala laser grips), LED mounted just above the hammer (rear sight area), and a replaceable lens mounted into the top strap. You can't do that with a slide-ride because you can't practically divorce the battery and circuit board from the slide. But with a revolver, you can put all that in the grip, and just the LED and lens on the sight-plane.

Marlin still make an 1894c?

Back when I built my 50 BMG I couldn’t figure out why you could get a single shot shot gun for $99 but a single shot 50 BMG was thousands of dollars.

A CZ/Tanfoglio slide-in-frame pistol (and grip ergos and linkless unlocking system) combined with a straight-pull 1911/2011 fire control unit.

I always wondered why no one made a single shot a la Winchester High Wall with a 20 ga size tube that could take inserts of many calibers and gauges. Could even tension rifle barrels. A sturdy rib on the barrel shroud (not picatinny) could take pic sections, weaver mounts, and all sorts of other sight apparatus. Could mount rear tube for AR stock options, pistol grip with AR compatibility, and fore end with many mounting options including good looking/feeling tree parts. Action could be a chassis of sorts, and fcg could be hammer, striker or electro-mechanical at shooter's preference.

You know, you are almost there... You take your shaved Webley, then you reload your 45 auto rim rounds. ( I think you have to shave a bit off the rims). Now you still have the issue that the bullet not being perfect for the barrel... But how good a shot do you what to be.. :)
