Been lusting after one of these since they hit the market. I have a black SCAR 16 and it's amazing. Looking forward to comparing it to its bigger brother.

Private seller, I've sent payment and FFL... so fingers crossed. It all feels right and checks out but you never really know until the rifle actually arrives. Timney trigger included.

Hopefully it'll clear/ship/ arrive within a week or two. Just wanted to tell someone about it! :D

friend of mine has both.....AND STILL hasn't let me shoot them.....which is fine there's a few around and I've gotten to use both a bit.

I really like both, but prefer the 17.

I know folks freak out about buying stuff off the net, but I've only ever had a couple issues. None were gun related either, and I've bought quite a few.

I've had good luck also but this deal is close to the "too good to be true" line (and it's a lot of money still). Seller sent me a pic I requested of the rifle and a handwritten note with his username on it though so it checks out. I just hope it doesn't get destroyed/stolen/lost in shipment. :uhoh:

Congratulations! Happy to celebrate its early arrival with you ‘cause that looks like fun pushed to the legal limit! Had I been more choosy with the toys of my youth I too would have nabbed one by now but alas my mind and money were elsewhere.

Here’s to a (nearly) completed transaction and lots of lead down range!

I've sent a lot of stuff all over the US, multiple firearms included, and as long as it's well packed it should arrive ok. If it went usps shipped via priority or express I wouldn't have a worry. FedEx and UPS have also been solid when not shipped slow boat......which likely don't exist on the mainland.
I do keep a close eye on tracking and will start making calls if something seems off.

I’ve added a good bit of stuff to my 17 to make it exactly what I want. The aftermarket support for the SCAR is growing, so it’s going to be easy to make your rifle your own.

Yeah, I have the Geissele in my 16. Great stuff. I tried the Timmey but preferred the G for fast, run-n-gun stuff. The Timney in this is undoubtedly better than the factory trigger and may be better for longer range stuff so we'll see.

That multicam is frickin' sweet by the way. How long is that barrel? Is it pinned and welded?

I totally missed that it already has a Timney in it. No way I would spend the money to swap to a Geiselle if it already has that Timney in it. Barrel is a standard 16”, but I have the Midwest Ind extended rail on my SCAR, so the barrel looks short.

My buddy at Patriot Firearm Coatings did the Cerakote work. It’s a Multicam pattern with old school Woodland camo colors. I was pretty impressed with the way it turned out. I just told him to take it and make it camo and trusted him. He does incredible work.

Totally missed the rail. I have the PWS version on my 16. I'm considering the KDG setup for the 17 but I really want to keep it light, as that's really the key advantage of the 17 over other battle rifles.

It came! Awesome used shape, bolt and internals looks spotless, upper has some honest wear on the muzzle nut, top t slots, and ejection port, and otherwise looks new.

PLUS, it's the awesome gold/green variant that I've been in love with since I first saw it. The initial pic looked tan/FDE but it's actually kind of tarted up OD green. LOVE IT.

Thing is LIGHT. I'm debating even putting an optic on it.

SUPER PUMPED!!!

That's a nice rifle, If I could afford one of have it for sure. I do have one hiccup with a rifle costing that much $ you'd think they could have the upper and lower color match each other.

Or at least the polymer lower and polymer stock colors match. But noooooo!! :D

I view it as effectively a multicolor FDE-camo. LOL

It’s possible to tune the gas system for your ammo by swapping out the gas port screws. Midwest gun sales carries them.

Probably
When are we going to see holes in paper?
be a while probably. I will shoot it at 25 to get a rough sight in, and in Multigun match Sept 14, but I don't have ready access to a 100 yard paper shootin' type range. I'll try to get out for a rifle shooting trip some weekend but my wife keeps me jumping on projects lately.

Been curious how this swap is done. I assume the screws are loc tited in place with high temp stuff? Or does the piston or something prevent them from backing out?

No thread locker needed. The gas regulator keeps the screw from backing out and the carbon tends to freeze it in place.

It’s a metric slotted screw, I think it’s around 1x4mm slot drive. Use penetrating oil before trying to remove one as you don’t want to strip it out.

I’ve been using anti-seize after swapping mine.
