After searching hereabouts for advice on how to deal with the stickiness of a Kick-Eez recoil pad, I came up empty. There used to be a product called Slick-Eez but it's been discontinued.

I don't actually have a problem when shooting, but after the gun has stood in the cabinet for a few days the pad sticks to the felt surface so firmly that I've actually torn bits of it away when lifting the gun out. I've tried lining the cabinet with paper but that didn't help.

Any suggestions? I could stand the gun upside down but that'd be pretty unstable.

Maybe wash it with dish soap or buy another pad, no problems with Limb Saver on my Mossberg

Not defective..: simply deteriorating with age. I’d bet anything that currently available recoil cushions are made with a different material.

I’ve a lot of rod repairs over many years and older gear has the same problem with rubber buttcaps...

My defense 870 with an aftermarket pad has the same problem. I like the pad, too, it really soaks up the sharp impulse of full power slugs/buck.

Let us know if any remedies work, if not I’ll just unscrew it and replace it.

Stay safe.

That is normal when they get old, I put a leather cover on mine but probably best to replace it.

How about just putting on a piece of Duck Tape or some other brand that matches the color of the pad? Just trim it to fit and it seems that should do the job.

Maybe try some Goo Gone to see if it can take away some of the stickiness of the Kick-Eez recoil pad.

Never liked Stick-eez, er Kick-eez pads for that very reason, and Limbsavers have done it on me, too. I like the Remington Super Cell on my 1100 Competition.
