it's a new England firearms singleshot 243 and it's in very good condition and so I was floored when he gave me this gun! so it had a bsa scope on it and I happen to have a Nikon buckmasters scope 3-9-40 so I changed the scope out on it and even tho its really hot here I took it out early the other morning and sighted it in! so my friend came over and I showed him what I did and the target he really liked what I did to it! I cleaned the gun up really nice and also I failed to mention I also put a black nylon sling on it as well and it made this gun look good!! i'll try and get some pics up soon! it's great to have true friends :)

Is this a Handi rifle? Sb2? I know the reviews are kind of hit and miss on these guns, but I have one in a 243 that's an absolute tackdriver. I believe mine has the youth stock and it's a bull barrel, it will stack them right on top of each other.

yep this one is the same way with my reloads I use 100gr sierra bullets and Winchester 760 powder and it'll stack them as well! :) p.s. yes its a handi rifle.

I recently had a 83 year old women friend give me a 740 Remington 30-06. Her husband passed away 5 years ago and before he passed he made me promise to take care of her. She lives on a 125 acre farm which I hunt on. I never regretted saying yes to him. many times i would go to visit and take care of things around the farm for her or sit at her table and have a cup of coffee with her. The rifle was something I never expected.

I bought one of those early SB2 Handy Rifles in .270 Win. mounted up a 3x9x40 Bushnell Trophy scope on it. At the range it shot very accurate but the ejector was defective. I took it back to the shop where I bought it and they gave me another one. Same problem so I took that one back too and got my money back. I really liked the rifle and I understand NEF fixed that ejector problem some time later. hdbiker

Nice neighbor. A friend of mine gave mea Winchester 94 a few years ago that is having it's one hundredth birthday this year. It was shot with corrosive ammo long ago and poorly cleaned at best and probably not at all. Looking through the bore is like looking through an airtight woodstove smokepipe that is in need of a good scrubbing. I am still proud of the old rifle. Other than the bad bore and almost no blue it's sound and has a very smooth action with some figure in the wood and isn't beat up at all.

It's the thought behind the gift that counts.

I have a Handi Rifle in 223 and its a shootin' dude. The first time I took it out without realizing it I fired 30 rounds in a row at 100 yards and every round was well inside the 2" bullseye. I have a 2x7 Nikon Pro-Staff on it now that needs to be sighted in.

Great story. It's nice to have someone entrust a gun to you. I was at a small gun shop and was looking for old Mossberg .22s. A old customer there said he had a old semi auto Mossberg that hadn't worked in 30 years and to stop over if I was interested. I did a couple days later. He handed me a excellent condition 151M(b) semi auto and said it's yours. I said how much? Nothing, fix it and enjoy it. I had 200 bucks in my pocket but he wanted nothing for it. When I got home I looked it over. The reason the bolt would not retract fully was he had remover the receiver sight and put the screws back in blocking the bolt. It's my "Mac Special" and a favorite of mine.
