Quoting myself from a year ago, lol, having since added a pair of .22 wheel guns-

I’m not a huge fan of Heritage .22s but I did succumb to a PSA sale on a 3” .22LR/.22WMR convertible for a pretty good price. No, not the quality of my Colts, Smith’s or Rugers but a fun little shooter with acceptable accuracy. I especially like the .22 mag cylinder.

Don't have one at present. Last one I had was an IJ Cadet, it spat lead so bad I wore a glove when I shot it. I miss my S&W 422, fun little gun.

This is my only .22LR "handgun" right now:


I sometimes miss having my Ruger SR-22 or the MKIV 22/45 but my Banshee is so much fun to shoot.

I have an update as well... It seems to be growing into a compulsion. Besides my Ruger 22/45 and a S&W 2214 I now have two more S&W pistols. The 422 was picked up on schedule right after my prior post and then a 2206 was offered to me at a price too good to pass up. I'm loving these S&W's.

Only .22 pistol I own currently. Picked up this beauty today at academy. Last one in stock. I want to thank everyone who posted for the motivation to buy one. Taking my kids to the range next weekend. Teach them how to shoot.

About time! Full inspection and range report as soon as you can get to it!

I was in a gun shop in Huston, Collector’s Firearms, a few day ago and found this little Smith & Wesson .22/.32 hand ejector. It is a good 85%-90% finish, just a light cylinder ring and a bit of fading on the barrel. The ejector rod is still blue. Usually if a revolver has been shot a lot, the ejector rod will be white. Good riffing and is very tight. According to my research, it is a all correct 1940 gun. It would not really be considered a true Bekeart. It was not priced like a Bekeart. I love .22 handguns, revolver,simi-auto, makes no difference. From the 1910’s to the late 70’s/early 80’s. Colt, S&W, High Standard and others made some very fine . 22 handguns. During that time as much effort was put into their .22 handguns as was put in bigger stuff. Including rifles and shotguns. Some remind me of a fine rifle or shotgun. A person should take the time and look at the .22 handguns from that time period. If you are not you are missing out on some very well fitted and finished rimfires. They are made like they will never be made again and the prices on most are still within reason. If you ever handle one, it will make you shake your head at the stamped and plastic coming out today. Most of these little rimfire handguns were dropped from production because they couldn’t be made at a price point that would complete with the newer designed guns starting to come out. There was just too much machining and hand fitting involved and you can feel it when you handle one.
